Answer is the same as always. Yes.

Especially now that flu symptoms put you at risk of mandatory lockdown.

Also you marthed, it's 19/day for normal flu death. 50/day for COVID if we use March-Sep. But it's ~100/day if we shorten the period to Mar to May when we didn't know how to deal with it.
Dammit I sure did marth that one. I should probably not be surfing beyond during a conference call.

Well with the lockdowns we should expect lower non covid flu deaths too presumably.

I don’t think anyone is debating that lockdowns and restrictions result in fewer deaths and infections. Pretty hard to get the flu if you are locked in your house.

The debate is whether it’s all worth it in the long run.
Our genius politicians at the federal level have decided that Covid is a good excuse to implement their socialist utopia, so that may be one of the longest lasting negative impacts of covid.

When the liberal/left finance minister is ousted for being worried about fiscal prudence - vs. polling numbers - you know the country is heading into fiscal fruit loop (or fruity pebbles?) territory.

Canadian voters and subsequently politicians are some toxic mix of naive and uneducated.

Just setup a BLM charity group in Canada (avoid the word WE in the title) and watch the government fruity pebbles come your way.

I mean, literally - a LBGTQRS + BLM + solar energy company - would get billions in Canada.

I am pretty sure I caught ADHD. I can't believe it because I mask up all the time.
Where do I go for testing?

I would love it if someone graphed the cases in highschools vs elementary, so we could see which group gave less fucks about covid restrictions.

This kinda indicates people just getting kids tested more frequently for going back to school. I'd be curious how many kids had symptoms but never got tested because they were only exposed to their families all summer (parents bring it home and infect the kids)

This is exactly what it is. There’s been no community transmission in schools yet but everyone has been testing their kids prior to going back to school and catching the cases.

I thought they did a serology study and had estimated cases with school aged children to be 6x higher than stated.

I also find it hilarious that for schools 2 cases is an outbreak and 5 cases is a watch. Who’s the idiot that came up with that terminology? Lol

I like how schools seem to think they get to decide how the family isolates if a kid tests positive. That's the type of thing I'm really looking for from an elementary school. I need them to stand up and arbitrarily declare that one parent needs to go live in the basement with a sick kid because reasons, rather than defer to THE PROVINCIAL HEALTH AUTHORITY.

Schools have zero say what you do at home. Why would they? No positive testers or ones showing symptoms at school. Pretty easy to understand.
