I just hope no more provinces enact an 'essential-only' item purchase restrictions like communist manitoba.

Need a new coffee machine? Nope too dangerous to purchase and non-essential, only allowed to purchase what the government says.
It's not that it's too dangerous, it's to keep people focused on only getting the essentials and reducing the capacity in stores

Changing subjects, a 11 kid hockey game at an outdoor rink got shutdown yesterday, but 50+ people at Olympic plaza was ok?

It wasn't about keeping people focused. It was about levelling the playing field between larger retailers that sold both "essential" and "non-essential" goods and smaller ones that had to close. Although small businesses might regret making a fuss when people who are now forced to buy online stick with that method.

Had to stop by Southcenter on Saturday (which wasn't ideal) went in to 1 store, grabbed my shit and GTFO.... but the mall was packed. Food court packed. Couple mouth breathers (literally) with no masks inside. Store made me sanitize upon entry and that was it. No security, nobody checking occupancy, seemed like a regular busy Saturday.

Based on this Xmas is fucked and cases aren't going down.

Will be interesting how many people still have Xmas gatherings even if they're not allowed. And WTF is the City going to do about it anyways?
At this point, I kinda just stopped caring. I don't need to go to any malls or shopping in the near future. Amazon for what I do need for presents and thats about it. My family already chatted and going to do video chats for Christmas this year. Kind of nice so I don't have to drive north to go home. Sucks to see things get worse but doesn't really affect me besides grocery trip runs and co-op is always quiet in the evenings. Pretty unlikely the 5 people in the store will have it.

PCexpress has continued to be excellent for me. I used to be the kind of person who was in safeway 4 times a week, now it's 1 time every two weeks or so for stuff I've forgotten, and PC express once a week for the bulk. Grocery shopping isn't fun for me, I'm glad to be doing less of it.

I paird for an instacart premium membership. Being able to order mid-day while I'm WFH, and then just put all the groceries away once they arrive has been great. It's already paid for itself.

Are some businesses exempt to the 25% capacity rule? I was at Costco, Canadian Tire, CO-OP and Safeway on the weekend and there were no lineups and the stores were busy inside. I was expecting massive lines. This was Saturday afternoon which I assume to be peak time for most of those places, especially Costco.

I went by 2 CT's, both had line ups

No other store that I went by or to, had a line up, so I'm curious if it was being enforced

I did a Superstore delivery order, not realizing it was instacart, the people who delivered my food were people I wouldn't invite into my house on a normal non covid day, but YMMV

Bingo. None of the current policy has teeth. Unless $1000 fine is being doled out like Halloween candies, nobody will care. And even if you fine them, they will just protest in the streets and drag it thru the courts just to create a platform for themselves and their own Insta/TikTok.

I don't like instacart because the prices are higher. I'll drive to superstore and sit in my truck surfing beyond once a week instead of paying sobeys prices for superstore groceries.

Costco’s same day delivery was instacart and I wasn’t super impressed. My only experience.

I was at the Westhills one, no lineup but it was wall-to-wall people inside for Black Friday weekend shopping. Same with Costco, absolutely packed - you could barely move around in there as usual, no way it was 25% capacity. Maybe it just takes them a few days to get their policies in place or maybe they just don't care anymore because nothing is enforced haha.

Weird, I was at Costco on Friday, lineup outside, well spaced, everyone had masks on. Took about 5 mins to get inside, and it was well controlled inside. Easily 25% capacity, able to move around easily, and tills had no line up at all. Paid right away.

This was at Beacon Hill. Probably the best Costco experience I've ever had.

Because I can't trust the picker people to find the best socket set. I need to hold them up to my ear and slap them all to make sure they are the freshest.

I've had good curbside pickup experiences with pretty much everywhere except CT. It was like they went through their stock and picked out the most broken, damaged example of every item on my order. Which is probably exactly what they did - try to unload their barely-sellable shit onto the pickup orders.

Shortage of O2 is no joke, a hit of that stuff, or better yet pure liquid oxygen, will sober you up in 5 seconds. Hospitals should start ordering liquid oxygen.

South Asians got it bad. Kenney hates yoo.
Constructive Criticism for Kenney: Just say brown people next time. There are other people in South Asia too.
