Perhaps, but how would that be any different than current vehicles that are not similar in cost, but are similar in performance? You can buy a fast, lower quality car for a lot less than a similarly fast luxury car - that value proposition seems to be successful for other manufacturers, I would assume it would be for Toyota too. With the case of the FRS, you could leave it at 200 HP and just use the turbo to give it some torque and much nicer power delivery - then leave it up to the aftermarket to take it from there. Torque is more the problem with these weak N/A cars, especially at Calgary's altitude. They become so boring to drive IMHO when the noise it makes doesn't match the feeling you get haha. Even if they swapped the N/A 2.0L in the FRS for a 1.5 or 1.8L turbo, I think that would still be a win and make the car way more enjoyable to drive.
