    Default Barrett Jackson - 2020

    Anyone watching? See anything interesting?

Saw a car that they said took 135k to build sell for 25k yesterday haha.. a biscayne I think. Seems like some good deals to be honest.

Pretty sure the “brand new” 1990 supra that country hills had just sold for 75k USD!

Is this Glenn’s car or another one? Not sure how many movie cars made it out.

I always record the auctions. I skip through all the shit I don't care about.

Muscle cars seem like they're going way cheaper than they used to. There hasn't been many super rare cars yet so maybe that's why they seem cheaper.

I love Mike Joy's work with NASCAR broadcasts on Fox, but he is fucking unbearable here. Every truck that comes across the block, he has to mention that they were originally built to haul, a longbox is more suited to that purpose than a shortbox, and the truck has been restored to a point that you might not want to haul a load of cow shit in it. Yeah Mike, they were built for one purpose and now they're being used for another. That's the appeal of them.

I can't hit mute fast enough when Chris Jacobs starts to talk.

Every year I say I’m going to go, and every year 1000 things come up that makes it impossible.

    I have heard it’s a great time.

Would be fun to go with a couple buddies, everyone brings 15k, and you all have to buy something and drive it home.
That could be an awesome adventure.

    Easy there, Moneybags.

But seriously, yes. Would be unreal. My cousin and I did something similar with motorcycles in California in my younger and more fun days.

    30k minimum I read yesterday...

It’s crazy, you can tell the buyers are loaded, they drop 70k on a car and don’t even flinch and are scoping out the next car before theirs leaves the damn stage.

Maybe that's the "showcase" ring, but there's some side auction with lots of sub 30k stuff. I think.

Yea the vast majority of auctions are fairly modestly priced. That said I have heard the fees to do anything with BJ are pretty out of hand, as such not a lot of “deals” to be had.

I've been! It was the infamous one in Las Vegas where the alleged proxy bidder bailed on the Veyron and was banned for five lifetimes while one of the auction owners then bought the car to save face. Something around $770k USD iIRC.
It was a fair bit of fun but not worthy of a bucket list, "highlight of my life" status. Although we were signed up to potentially bid, we barely watched ANY of the actual auction, at all. Cruising through the vast array of cars was far more fun. The most interesting thing we found were how many cheap cars are there that don't go on TV. There's fuckin piles of them and many of them make zero sense to be at Barrett Jackson while others, sort of, do.
There was a severely neglected '88 Esprit Turbo that looked like it had been underwater and a late 60's RR Silver Shadow that looked like someone took a wire wheel to its majestic grill. I vaguely recall those selling for less than $10k! Many very very average Mercedes that were not even in good shape.
If there still is one in Vegas, that's the no-brainer to go to. It was right in Mandalay Bay so just tack an extra day or two onto the next Vegas ripper.

I believe it's a 10% buyers fee. Not sure what's on the sellers side.

Sounds like the crazy price it's been listed at for the last decade. Probably the best year to sell with the mkv release
