While you currently might not be interested in the privilege of eating at the pub, once (if?) you have children, the benefits are huge... preschool, sports lessons, childcare (!), general socializing with kids they go to school with, etc.
Totally agree, this is 90% of my interest. I just mean that being a “social member” is a crock of shit.

It is a crock of shit, but it is what it is.

FWIW, I don't know anyone that's waited more than about 18 months to graduate past the social level. Based on the GC's recent membership push, I wouldn't expect an unreasonable wait to move into a house membership.

18 Months I could totally live with, let’s me stagger out the entrance fee bullets anyways lmao

Did anyone figure out how to set a thread to ignore?
I tried to do the ignore thing with ZenOps, but you know what they say about when disasters occur...you can't help but look.

I actually asked this in the forums suggestions area a while ago and I don't think it got any responses. It would be an amazing feature IMO. I'm sure everyone has threads that will just never interest them, so it would be nice to be able to hide/ignore them. I don't know if it's an available feature of vBulletin or not.

I vote this thread worst thread of the year. Previously the thread itself gave me eye cancer, now the mere sight of the topic is giving me eye cancer.

From what we were told, with the membership push last year (which they dropped the fees) it added some ~150 people on the list and should take 3-4 years to get from Social to House.. then another few years after to get to full time. House isnt terrible, I believe the kids have full access and the parents are limited.

This is honestly a tough decision. I don't care for the food or golf, but do need a place to land my Iron Lotus.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?
