    Absentee ballots are fine.

Universal mail-in ballots creates a lot of room for fraud to take place.
Those are literally the same thing. Congrats on being delusional.

There is a pretty big key difference. Absentee ballots are requested specifically by the voter.

Not everyone participates in the election. So if you send out mass votes to every address/household (some of which can be outdated and unreliable) there is every possibility that someone steals your ballot, harvests your ballot and decides who you are going to vote for.

I mean if you can't see that there is a difference, it's you, that's the delusional one.

    States that allow Absentee ballots

Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia are the states that allow it..
    How to get one

send absentee ballots to military and overseas voters who request them. In 16 states*,
So the others NEED to use Main-in ballots

Mail-in ballots is sent to everyone (only difference) now if they can't get absentee ballots do they not vote? Do they go and wait (Considering a lot of states had 10+Hour lineups)

Do we want a democracy and people to have a voice?

Maybe if they didn't make people wait 10hrs and 30minutes maximum like expected it wouldn't be that bad.

... You do realize that you register and request mail in ballots too right? They don't just mass mail 10 million ballots out and then see what gets back. That's how they know and can post numbers like 'of the 2.4 million ballots requested so far 2.2 million have been returned'

I've noticed that many people with objections to mail-in ballots also don't know how they work.

can someone educate me on mail in ballots? What is the justification of using Mail in? What controls are in place to confirm voter identity? How can they confirm the ballots are not manipulated during transit?

I can imagine lots of people who dont vote (or dont care) pass their vote to a family/friend to handle.

You make this inference based on... what?

Why would someone go through the effort to register for a mail-in ballot, wait to receive it, and then get their crazy uncle Herb to actually vote?

Okay but the same could be true for in person voting though. Fake ids, dead people trying to vote, bribing people to vote, etc I'm not saying anything is perfectly secure, just that the one method is reasonably as good as the other.
"I know a guy" who has literally committed election fraud, in person, here in Canada. Preposterously easy, unfortunately!
Still, I agree it's fuckin 5th decimal percent. But still...
Let's say your name was Charlene RurrJurr and you happened to have fallen on hard times and lived avec your folks, and, your dad was named Chad RurrJurr... Well, you just head on down to that erection station deux times and cast the ol ballot on behalf of yer dear ol' dad, and, profit!

    Mentioning for SKR.

It'll be great to put a percentage of Russian hacking/influence on the 2016 election. Mail in ballots aren't the issue. Well unless they get lost and the USPS doesn't comply with court orders because Trump is shady AF.

You register a head of time with government issued ID, the same ID you'd show voting in person. They mail you a ballot that is uniquely coded, you mark it and mail it back. The poll workers then verify the signature matches your signature on your ID/registration (I'm unclear which one) then it gets counted the same as a in person ballot.

There's also protections in place against double voting, if you vote in person then the mail in one is voided. So the concept of some spooky mailman stealing all the ballots makes no sense because the voter wouldn't receive a ballot so they'd then have to vote in person .

Facebook's still around. Charlene and Chad are good peoples.

In person voting is mostly way more fraudulent than mail in voting, especially for the people who show up.

recounts at most in the past have swayed a few hundred votes, not thousands, and fraud is a pretty serious allegation that'd be nearly impossible to prove, even if it did happen, which it likely didn't, at least not to the degree where it'd have had any impact on the result.

No, not all are requested. Some are proactively sent based on a voter roll/list. And like I said those can be out of date.

Show me that every vote by mail ballot was requested. Just because they were on a registered voting list does not count and does not mean they requested a ballot for this election.

I am just asking and identifying the potential scenarios. I am certain it has happened but just not sure on the frequency.

PS. My inference is based on historical evidence that most humans are retarded scum. #peaceout
