KXL seems to be the standard answer but between the NRDC lawsuits and the Trump-controlled USBLM (ironic coincidence) "approval" process, there is no guarantee that it will be built under Trump, if ever.
Someone trying to build it is better for us than someone who will certainly destroy it

I kind of want us to keep our oil until it's back in demand after WW3.

The question I have for Trump-supporting Canadians is: in what ways do you feel Trump's presidency has been good for Canada so far and how would we benefit from another 4 years of Trump?
Mainly just jealous that we don't have this sort of leadership in our own country. The main benefit to Canada, is that we might have somewhere to border hop to when Trudeau runs Canada into an uninhabitable shit hole.

Humans have a psychological coping mechanism for complex questions. They generally substitute a simpler question.
I think the question many people are substituting with is "do I like Donald Trump"?

Check out "Thinking fast and slow" from a dude who won the novel prize in Behavioural Psychology for more info.

That being said, I'm very uninformed on US politics, but as someone who cannot vote in the USA, I don't think I need to be.

It would be a very unusual situation if there was one candidate that was "objectively better" overall.

There is, what's a novel prize BTW? I wonder if Trump has ever read that book... or any book?
Best reader, frankly, nobody reads more books. I think many people would agree with that. Probably, the most books of anyone.

Given the way 2020 is going - I have little doubt the election results will descend into a farce, that is much worse than bush 2000. It could be a biden victory, which trump will contest/pout or a biden loss, which the rioters will start up again.

No doubt about it, especially when POTUS just yesterday would not commit to a peaceful transition of power should he lose.

    Civil war incoming

Anyway, here's the book, I liked it. And I was wrong about what the Nobel Prize category was.

    This sounds like crazy talk.

Except I've been saying this to a political analyst friend of mine for the last 6 months also. Civil war is going to break out in America with all this targeted, intentionally fabricated divisiveness and turmoil AND directly because of this president. I really feel the only two questions are, how bad and when?

I could not have imagined thinking this way even 12-18 months ago.

That's him posturing again though. Saying there would be a peaceful transition, is admitting there's a chance he'll lose. There's no way his ego would let him admit that on camera.

I’m the same way. I think it was Bill Maher years ago who said that he wouldn’t leave if he lost and I totally dismissed that as absolutely ridiculous and impossible in America. Now in 2020 and 6 weeks away from election, it’s a very real possibility.

I’ve been reading about it and there’s this phenomenon called “blue shift” where Democrat votes get counted later because of big cities having a lot more to count, and also democrats voting by mail more than republicans. A possible scenario is that if it’s really close, election night may show a trump win and he will declare victory, but over the next few days Democrat votes will trickle in and actually show Biden winning. But at that point he would have already declared victory and started to convince people that all of the other votes are invalid.

Quite a few interesting scenarios laid out here:

Is it also him posturing saying they'll get rid of the ballots?

Yup, he just showed up this morning with a mask on and kissing ass at the top of the Supreme Court steps.

Which is EXACTLY what election law experts have predicted, that he will use this present opportunity to stack the Supreme Court to indefinitely tie up the election results and retain power.

Because all of the SC justices seem super eager to be told by Trump what to do.

Regardless, things are playing out pretty similar to predictions of possible outcome. Will they tow the line once balance of power hangs in their grasp? Doesn't really matter, we'll find out soon enough. It is interesting now though.

It's pretty clear he's posturing for a possible loss with all the talk about mail in ballot fraud (which he himself votes by lol), and his attempted disruption of the USPS. It's a never-ending clown show and I love it. October will be maximum entertainment, and there is almost always a last minute bomb each party tries to drop on eachother (in 2016 it was the Trump tapes and the Hillary FBI investigation).
