Online voting probably would not work as is currently. All you have to do is legally screw with the voting app localize the servers, and all of a sudden you get a USA Netflix, where you can watch completely different things from Canada Netflix. You can't even Netflix vote "Californication" up on Canadian netflix, because you don't get to watch it in the first place. A savvy computer programmer with no oversight could rig any election by simply *not* allowing choice.

You may be able to download and use TikTok in China, but not in the USA.

Besides the fact that the USA cannot afford to have a global voting system, where 1 Billion Chinese and 1 Billion from India have an equal vote. Because if you do online voting and truely believe in democracy - there is no reason to not give every human on the planet an equal say. And absolutely trust me on this one, give everyone in the world a vote and they will vote to divvy up the USA 10 acres for every man for free, just like the white people got so many centuries ago.

Its the same with the combustion car, the existing Ford, Mclaren, and Chevys of the world cannot afford and will fight tooth an nail to keep people subservient and locked into buying their goods for a lifetime (including patents, necessary liquids, things like pure labor head gasket repairs, and of course daily need for gasoline) give people free reign, and they will probably go electric.

With that said: Bring back MadMax Fury Road for Canada netflix.

The problem with blockchain is everything is a publicly viewable chain. In order for it to work with transparency there would have to be a way that you can tie each vote to a person. Whether that is a new unique voter ID or a social security or what ... it basically could let someone track every vote back to a person. Think there's a lot of sketchy voter tactics now? Wait until some data mining company figures out how to pull everyone's voting history. Then you'll really see attacks on different demographics and individuals.

You can backtrack bitcoins* from darknet markets to individual wallets and where they got their coins, you don't think that wouldn't happen with a public voting record? (* Unless you mix your coins but that wouldn't be applicable to a voting blockchain)

One of the important pillars of a democracy is safety in voting. Let's say you have a extremist family (left or right, doesn't matter) and they pressure their kids into voting a certain way. Current voting, once they are in the voting booth they can vote any way in secrecy and be safe. But with any kind of public blockchain the family would be able to force you to show who you voted for. That means people can be threatened to vote one way or else.

Online banking. You leverage the security of online banking to prove someones identity and issue a unique voter ID code. Then you use the blockchain to facilitate the vote. We already (in canada anyways) use online banking for government tasks so the technology is there.

That still doesn't prevent someone (whether family or otherwise) from forcing you to show your vote afterwards and then punishing you if you didn't vote accordingly. And if you can't verify your vote against the public record then it's not a proper blockchain and there's no way to know if votes are being counted correctly.

I know that probably sounds far fetched being in Canada but in other parts of the world that's very much a reality. 'Democracies' where everyone has to vote one way or your family is punished.

This makes sense for Canada, but you'd be surprised how many American adults don't have bank accounts.

We worried Biden is going to trip and fall down the stairs without his alert bracelet on?

Biden is going senile. He probably not fit to serve the whole term.

Then again, nobody got the balls to pull Trump out of there either.

I'm putting equal odds on Biden not even making it to the the ticket.

Alternatively he could write himself a doctor's note, force his doctor to sign it, and become the healthiest person the world has ever seen. Worked once already.

Biden is just a puppet for the DNC, so it will be up to them whether he makes it.

Biden Kamala is what happens when you let focus groups pick the presidential ticket based on how many boxes you check.

Same shit as how we got Scheer.

Unfortunately mental acuity isn’t a box.

Will Pence have a 1 liner to KO her? lol

Tulsi Gabbard blasted Harris over marijuana convictions, saying she “put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana.”
Trump moves to endorse Cannabis. Oh what a troll move plz the Donald. Do it and make HMMJ great again!

I don’t even know why they bother with Vice Presidents.

    It’s an empty title.

It provides an immediate second in command in-line with what voters wanted should something happen to the President, which has happened many times historically (death, resignation, etc). It's actually an extremely important role and they do more than most people think. A VP ended WWII, for example. The VP is also the President of the Senate and can deliver a tie-breaker vote.

In terms of pure power, one could argue Congress and the senate majority leader has even more power than the President or VP.

I don't really know anything about her. She is probably Biden's version of John McCains Sarah Palin though.

That's an insult to Kamala, sir. She's fricking intelligent and one of my favorites from the list of possible candidates. Also a moderate dem. She could be president in a few years. Sarah Palin's not in the same league.

There is no difference. Do you get your "facts" from "Thighland" Trump?

Like I said... I know nothing about her. I will do so field research though!
