Default Who can deep clean / deordize an office chair?

My friend recently picked up a Herman Miller Aeron office chair at Goodwill for $35! but she wants it fully deep cleaned, or at least deodorize the chair as the previous owner is obviously a smoker.

You guys know anyone in Calgary that can provide equipment cleaning service for a single office chair?

Aren't those chairs 90% mesh? I'd just take some dish soap or all purpose cleaner mixed with water and go to town with a soft brush. Probably don't need to pay anyone to do it if it's the kind of chair I am thinking of.

Smoke is the worst though, you can reduce it but I don't think anything will ever get the smell 100% out.

LOL, I don't think either would do a good job on the mesh but who knows.

I have one of those and yeah its mostly mesh but i think the mesh does have some type of fabric stitched into it. I cant really tell lol

This is what you want http://www.endoftheroll.com/products/smell-zapper/, my last tenant smoked in my garage for almost 10 years so you can imagine how bad it wreaked in there. It took me 2 applications on every surface but it worked thankfully

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I had 2 of these - very nice except for me (as a big person) the back of the legs did not like the edge.

Start with a warm/hot water wash - the car wand wash is not a bad idea - but use YOUR soap not theirs. You need to wet the entire fabric area well as smoke stuff is OILY. Elbow grease will be required and DONT aim the blast near the chair.

A big shower stall would work as well. Taking the chair apart might be necessary - WELL seal the hydraulics area though.

A pro company is going to be $100+. Get out the soap, water, scrub brush, and a shop vac and have at er. Give it a pre soak with a 25/75 ratio of dish soap to water, scrub away with your brush, rinse it down with 100% water, and then shop vac that baby.

Lather, rinse, and repeat until you have the results you're after.

Simple steam cleaner would do the job without creating another smell issue from using vinegar or whatever. My steamer cost me 130$ on Amazon, I'd guess someone here would have one they could lend you for an hour.
