    Where at???
Well, just browse around in grey market, look at SS Daytona, from $25k US couple month ago to $19-20k, some are in ~ $18k range ..(used, still at least 5k over MSRP) 66 / batman were $18k US, now in $13k range, Sub are around $10kUS, non popular model such as TT Daytona, Datejust, AirKing are at MSRP or less ...

    Ops, sorry for highjack..

Back to topic, Seiko are on sale again at thebay.com this weekend, some nice Seiko Sport for less than $300cad! ☺️

big fan of Lorier watches (I owned the Neptune Gilt v1).
    https://www.facebook.com/lorierwatches.official

wouldn't mind getting the Falcon II or Neptune III but pretty happy with my Tiger 10160P that don't feel the need of another watch (my travel watch is the Steinhart Ocean 39 Explorer Plexi LE).

big fan of plexi glasses, sapphire glass doesn't really matter to me. the glass on my Tiger is scratched right now but I ordered some polywatch that I'm hoping to arrive later this month.

After going through a few mineral faces, I swore off them because they scratch so easy.

Had to chuckle in their description that mineral is "more shatter-resistant than sapphire". Maybe true, maybe not but very obviously trying to downplay how much better sapphire really is.
It was only a couple of years ago that Seiko was using mineral crystals on $4,000 Marinemaster dive watches for the same reason.

Theyre very similar. I just don't like the new seiko 5 sports dials, because the less lettering on a dial the better IMO.

If I buy one, I'll likely get a dial swap. I love my 007.

I rock an skx007 quite regularly. Super solid watch at a great price. I prefer the dial on the og to the new updated version. The crystal is definitely not that durable though as I have quite a few scratches on mine, probably due to the thickness of the watch. But you def cant go wrong with an 7s26 movement. I have a 16610 as well but I wear my skx, timex, and tissot prs516 more often as I dont have to worry about dinging them up. Just picked up another seiko w/ the 7s26 movement, a snk809. Liking it so far especially with the clear caseback to see that auto movement.

I think the Sport 5 dial is nice and decent, but a touch too thick, and the bezel isn't that nice...I have seen ceremic bezel upgrade, may seek if I can get that upgrade done in town...😊

Black/gold samurai would be my pick, sport 5 just doesn’t do it for me... they also have a monster that’s sort of interesting, little too unique for me though

7s26 is a decent movement, easy to regulate and can get decent time, expect -/+ 10s

Bummmp. I've definitely enjoyed my seiko 5 as a daily, but as mentioned above it is too thick to be a dress watch. Looking to pick up another every day watch, but needs to be dressy enough to work with a suit. Around $1500 or so.
Looking for suggestions. Used tag carrera is currently on the list. Also a seiko pressage. Not sure about tissot, hamilton, rado?
Doesn't need to be new, but it needs to be in excellent condition.

I picked up a really good budget watch a few weeks ago, G-SHOCK MT-G MTGB1000D-1A from Casio. Very, very solid and well made watch for the money, it was $800 nib from a guy who didn't want it who received it as a gift, they are around $1k retail IIRC. Pretty big though, if you have small wrists/arms it may not be the thing for you, I love it though.

LOL. One solid year later I finally made the purchase. Bought a new SKX007 today off chrono24 (first purchase from there). Should have it sometime later this month. Excited. I plan on putting a sapphire crystal on it and then daily wearing the hell out of it.

You made the right choice. 007 is a solid piece. You could even just wear with the stock crystal its not too bad.

Nice. Still one of my favourite watches of all time. Finding one isn't easy these days brand new since they have been discontinued.

just curious... what do people consider the best value ETA based "value" auto watches?

I actually like Victorinox, Mido, CYMA, Raymond Weil, Stowa

I believe even invicta has some 2824-2 movements...
