    Default Budget Watches

I am looking for a watch in the $500 ballpark range and am looking for suggestions. So far I am looking at a Seiko 5, but I am curious about your thoughts on other brands as well. I haven't owned an automatic or mechanical watch but I am leaning that way over a quartz.

    Thanks.

    For example.

    Or the SNZG09

What is important to you in a watch (water resistance, materials, use, etc.), and what style are you leaning toward (dress, casual, pilot, etc.)?

Spinning the watch gang wheel has resulted in some surprisingly decent watches... including one of my favourites that’s actually on A790’s site

...which was only $160 usd on the wheel

I really like that Seiko SNK809 and the recraft. I don't know why but I have bene into the green faces lately. Maybe in my budget I could get a weekender too lol.

I rock da Casio Edifices. My nicest watch I have in my budget collection is my Bulova automatic and that was still cheap.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

$500 ish will get you an automatic Seiko Turtle or Samurai. Head to Bezel House here in town and take a look. You don't have to pay MRSP for a watch.

You could get a SARB017 for under $500 still. A great green-dial'd piece with a decent automatic movement.

Second this advice! Ryan is the man for Seiko locally.

I like the SRPD33 in green. Not as bright green but a nice watch in person.

Seiko, Orient, Hamilton, even some G shock perhaps are good choice!

The new Seiko 5 sport could be around $250-280 when on sale, for $500, I would get a Seiko Sport 5 + a classic G shock!

I’m a big Citizen fan if you’re shopping in the $600-$800 range.

I like the fact you can get these seiko 5s and mod them like crazy to.your liking. Tons of mod parts and colors of dials, bezels, hands etc...maybe look that route.

Yeah I’m not a huge fan of the subscription, but I like the wheel as you can load it with all of the same model, odds are high you will spin the lowest tier on it, but worst case if you don’t you will get an even better watch. Usually I wait till they have a deal and on to spin for something. Way happier with wheel 2 purchases than I was with the platinum subscription

The new Sport 5 is decent, very solid, good size, lovely green colour, good quality, good fit and finish compare to those cheaper Seiko 5, however, for more than double the price..

They go on sale quite often!

I got mine last month with the Bay 30 or 35% off, something like that, for less than $300 with tax, still a bargain!

I'd rather get a replica of what that watch is essentially trying to copy anyways
