just curious... what do people consider the best value ETA based "value" auto watches?

I actually like Victorinox, Mido, CYMA, Raymond Weil, Stowa

I believe even invicta has some 2824-2 movements...
I think Eterna are the best bang for buck as they get blown out for 80% off MSRP on the secondary market. Eterna are the ones who invented the ETA movements as it was their movement division of Eterna watches many years ago. You can snag them pretty cheap.

I can't speak to the value, but I am really looking at a Mido currently. the commanders and baroncellis are high on my list.

Other than chrono24 I have no idea where is reputable to look for resellers. Thanks!

I really like my Mido Ocean Star Chronometer Si 600! Really solid watch and accurate as fuck. I lose less than half a second a day since day one and I am going on a three years now. A very solid value for a watch of this calibre construction...

ebay usually has them on blowout. Sometimes Ashford and Jomashop get them but it's becoming less common.

Bummmp. I've definitely enjoyed my seiko 5 as a daily, but as mentioned above it is too thick to be a dress watch. Looking to pick up another every day watch, but needs to be dressy enough to work with a suit. Around $1500 or so.
Looking for suggestions. Used tag carrera is currently on the list. Also a seiko pressage. Not sure about tissot, hamilton, rado?
Doesn't need to be new, but it needs to be in excellent condition.
if you want to stick with Seiko 5, the 2020 version IMO looks great, too bad they are 40mm, wish they were 36mm or 39mm

Even I love Seiko, but I say the Mido is best value .. most Seiko (better one with 6R) are $1500+ now, even most 4R are $500+ may well get a Mido for ~ $1K (or less for some)

Here's a question, for a kid, or a woman with smaller wrists, is there a cheap "field watch" that is smaller than 38mm.
Quartz movement okay. Realize there will be thousands, but if anyone has done the up front research that's handy. Would be nice if it was a Seiko because I like that, but whatev.

vitcorinox came to mind for ladies field watches.. nice watches, but they are not cheap.

Timex looks to have a few good. not overly ladylike though

You can get field watches in 36 or 34mm

    Seiko SNK807 is a 37mm.

    Do you like this one?

It's 32mm and I've got one that has the automatic movement that needs a service. If you want it, it's all yours. Might be cheaper to have the movement serviced vs buying something new.

Just to be clear(er), this once would be $100 or less price goal. That's why I mentioned Quartz movement. Maybe I'll just go to Wal-mart and browse the $30 watch section.

Thinking for myself of switching from my SNK009 to one of the SNZG models, maybe the green SNZG09K model. Super similar watches, but has the hours more prominent, which I like, and slightly larger case, which i think I'd like.

EDIT, someone tell me what watch websites are legit for this stuff and don't rape me on shipping. It's a cheap watch, so shipping is a big portion of the cost.
