Best buy return policy

How strict is Best Buy with their return policy? I bought an item last month and I am on day 31 today, but I want to return the item. It is a home automation product that I have not taken out of its shrink wrap and remains intact.

Is it worth going down for a return?

Their policy can be flexible, you just might have to argue with them a bit. I did it recently with some headphones, and they accepted the return (which contradicts their policy).

I thought about calling in but I find that such things can be at the discretion of the person you are dealing with at the time, or the manager you escalate to.

Hudson’s Bay is flexible depending on the person you deal with for example, with leeway for a day or two where I have experienced this before.

I was able to return no question asked. I was upfront about how I let the 30 day limit slip. The CSR was very friendly and told me that it was a non issue and that she would accommodate.

That's a pleasant experience that will have me wanting to shop again at Bestbuy.

The purchases were part of overzealous shopping around home automation during boxing week, including Phillips Hue kits and multiple Google Nest Minis that I got at killer prices. I literally ran out of room to install these ones in my home, so they needed to go back. I'm hundreds of $ richer now than I thought.
