Most lifted trucks I’ve driven are terrifying to drive when towing any sort of real load.
But but but the guy at the dealer told me my lifted truck would be cool...

I've owned stock, lifted and lowered trucks. I haven't noticed any variance either way. I just use my trucks to go to the Co-op for groceries though and I don't know how much weiner displacement matters for that.

when you say lowered truck, this is what i envision.
there is no way something like this would have the same capability as a lifted truck.

That’s the kind of truck I envision of a 20 year old owning and filling the box with dudes in flat brimmed hats, board shorts and wife beaters so they can slowly drive around the Barlow parking lot...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So it's the Subaru rescue truck? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You can lower a vehicle with modified spindles keeping all the suspension geometry bang on. Or Airbags which won't change angles or payload either. Lowering vehicles is far from cutting springs these days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah lowered trucks can't tow anything. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I don’t really see how lowering really sacrifices towing in any meaningful way if the suspension is redone properly for the lower travel, probably results in a really stiff truck, but not one that can’t tow.
Obviously hack jobs in terms of either lifting or lowering is going to fuck up your truck, but properly done jobs should be fine.

This is a custom frame for a bagged Chevy dually. You can see how they build it to keep suspension travel.

Call me a flat brimmed buster if you must but those bagged duallies with giant rims look cool.
