True baller would get the parkade entrance height adjusted. problem solved.
Agreed. I love the looks of the dropped trucks now, woodridge had one that was a 2/4 drop and it looked very niceThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I want him to get frothed up on a lowered raptor only to find out he can’t get it in his parkade width wiseThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I just had to have “the talk” with a coworker about the realities of DDing a Raptor yesterday afternoon, so this thread is extra funny to me.

Thats actually a very valid point. I never thought about the challenges of DD'ing a raptor, its hard enough trying to park my reg f150.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

lol as much as I’d love a Raptor I don’t need two unpractical vehicles. One is enough. I’ll check out the GMC Sierra today and later looking at a 17 E400 at Benz and the new Lexus IS350 tomorrow and will go from there. Funny cross shopping a 2 door coupe with a 4 door sedan and a pick up truck.

Funny, I'm having the debate about DD'ing a raptor right now. It's only 6" wider than my Lariat but in reality that's going to preclude me from a lot more parking spots, more walking is the only downside I see to it.
YOLO right? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I am sure things will change for me in a year or two when kid(s) are in the picture but until then I am gonna enjoy. Lol.

That downside is actually a positive thing so that should be a + factor. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Get a 2500 diesel. A lot of dealers are offering low interest 6 month leases so that they can flip them to the states for profit. Lease length fits your lifestyle.
GM version I think is the same height as the 1500 so no big deal. And you'll have an interesting experience along the way.
The new GM 2500 is a pretty big truck, way bigger than my 1500 in every way side to side. Always catches me off guard. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Gorgeous though.

I've only ever had the Raptor in one parkade, it's too much of a pain in the ass, totally worth it though haha.
Not a chance you're getting a 2500 down a 6'1 parkade and a crew cab only comes in the 6.5 foot bed so good luck with any parkade even if you can fit under

No chance you're getting any half ton in that parkade either. I see a few 3/4's parked in a unnamed underground lot every day. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Otherwise, my car motto is that it's not what it costs you to buy, but what it costs you to sell. In this sense, a Raptor is a great option; purchase price is high, but residual values are ridiculous, so your TCO over the 3 months you'll inevitably have it will be favourable.
If you are serious about a 6'1" parkade, just forget the pickup idea.

So the Sierra 1500 likely won't work - while it's cheapish to get the value they are placing on the Jeep is a significant lowball. Almost $9K less than what I am being offered by my BC contact so that's likely a no go. Plus the parkade height issues aren't going away either and that's a big one. Thought about the Canyon but not sure if I like it as much so probably not going that route.
Checked out the E400 after and quite enjoyed it. Took a spin in freezing rain and with winter tires it was splendid. Luxury cruiser really which can also be fun. Negative though is the interior is a bit dated (doesn't have the updated big ass screen setup that Merc's these days have). They also low balled on trade in value but the going is working on that.
Will check out the IS350 tomorrow and so far for a local deal that's the best trade-in value, so it's a matter of seeing if I enjoy the car or not.
You know, it's not a law that you have to trade your current vehicle to the dealer you buy the next vehicle from. They are two separate and unrelated transactions.
