My Dad wears vests and a tie daily.
He can pull off the look for sure, as hes generally has good fashion taste and accessorizes with a high end watch and good shoes.
    He's also in his 60's

I cannot pull off a vest personally.

    Give it a go.

It is all based on context. If you can wear it like this, great:

Do not look like this though:

I must ask... which watch does the aforementioned relative wear?

I’m also curious about the “good watch”, in the context of your second last paragraph, that you would rock?
    Sure.
What I mean by a good watch more of a design style that matches with your overall style that is in balance. It does not have to be designer or expensive. Its more about the style.
    To give context

My relative actually wears a Rolex. Its a fantastic watch. But when its put into context of the rest of his clothing. I don't think it works in a professional context. From a sales perspective, it raises a red flag.

But on the flip side of that, I'm the opposite. I wear a dark brown DKNY watch(Bday present to myself for my 30th). It matches with a lot of things and is not loud. But enough to gently tickle the balls of the viewer.

A Rolex and a quartz fashion watch are on opposite sides of the watch world. I would argue both are questionable places to be if you're trying to make an impression.

I always thought if somebody was wearing a vest it’s because they were forced to

This lady knows how to wear a vest. Looks like the bee girl from blind melon. Pic is full potato, I am aware.

    Great job Zapruder.
I lol because out of all the traffic-stopping hotties a guy sees while driving, by far the closest I ever came to crashing while staring at a girl was for someone who looked so precisely like The Bee Girl that I could not stop staring. Nearly rear-ended a car in traffic over a weird as Hell looking person dressed like a cartoon!

    Aside Part Deux:
I was at the Blind Melon concert and part of the debauchery included The Bee Girl popping onto the stage for No Rain. Shanon Hoon, while completely naked, charged over, tackled her to the ground and proceeded to vigorously (dry, not so dry) hump her for a few seconds.
I believe she was about twelve.

People who can pull off a vest don't need to ask permission.

I had no idea the finance Power Vest was a thing until this thread....
Some intern wore that around the office and I thought he was just a dorky engineer, no idea finance bro's wore this.

we have some auditors around the office and can vouch that some of them wear a power vest.

otherwise yeah most I've met wearing a fleece vest are either very anti-social IT guys or a SCADA guy.

Fleece vest is an awesome anti-social engineer move. I've run that system for a lot of my career.
