Default Does this Carfax Look weird to Anyone?

It's a used vehicle I am looking at purchasing. It seems there is a registration renewal every 6 months or even more frequently. It only has 37,000ish kms for a 2015 vehicle.

Do you know what the reason might be?

    Lease use records?

This is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid at Heritage Honda right?

Couldn't they tell you why that might be?

Guessing part of a large business' fleet? One of the CoC vehicles I owned had a history like that one - the individual business units renew/release/transfer them around and they get a change of paperwork.

Multiple registrations may equal multiple drivers...

Even with only 37K I would stay away.

    Yes, that's the vehicle.

This is the reason they gave:

So the previous owner upgraded to a Honda Pilot. He was just on a low KM lease and usually leases his vehicles due to it not being driven as often. It is moreso a second vehicle for him and his family so they just use it for when they have the family together.

Maybe the previous owner prolifically parked in private lots and did not pay the tickets, so they proceeded to re-register the vehicle to get a new plate to reset their privilege.

This actually is a very possible explanation.

It's better than the reason the dealership gave.

Just like twin cam I've run into this many times. Had a 2017 Ford F150 (sent to the US) that had 23 registration events. Really strange, some were 1 month apart. Never got to the bottom of that one but whenever I have seen a newer vehicle with multiple regi events it's been leased through Driving Force/Peplinskis/ or another lease provider. Usually means it was a fleet vehicle of some sort in my experience.

I think if I pull a VIR at a registry it should at least give me the information on whether it was used commercially. This would tell me whether it was a fleet vehicle or not right?

So I did the thing I should have done in the first place and just put the VIN into Google, came back with the result below.

I forgot to send my response earlier but likely a fleet vehicle or was changing ownership from personal to business back and forth or something.

Can you do this? Do they question it or do they just let you pay the fee and get a new plate?

I am actually not sure if you can do it at intervals shorter than the annual registration, but i think it would work. Every year i request a new plate and they never have an issue with issuing one. I was once asked why i needed a new plate and i just mentioned mine was damaged and the lovely lady let me grab a fresh plate.
