Yes, I have delayed trips due to concerns with the virus.
No, I am proceeding as planned with all travel.
Yes, but I will take precautions and still go.
The Corona threat is all a bunch of hogwash.

Yea that news from the cruise ship by Japan over the past week or so has definitely added to my anxiety for my cruise trip next week a wee bit. lol.
Cruise ships in general are reasonably safe places, but by thier nature, shit spreads worse in that type of environment.
They are also environmentally disastrous, if that kind of thing is important to you.

Flying to Tokyo late April... bought "cancel for whatever reason" insurance just in case.
Yes indeed. Was planning on a China, Korea, Japan trip this year but will probably do some smaller trips in Canada/US now
Well coronavirus definitely makes me rethink trips to the NE, does that count?

Everything south of Glenmore is basically Okotoks. I feel like an illegal alien down there. It's no fun.

As a healthy adult you should be way more worried about the normal flu unless you're traveling to China. Personally it wouldn't even begin to factor into my travel plans. I'd maybe avoid Asian cruises.
I am not afraid of the flu. I am more afraid of how I will be treated if I get even a sniffle being Asian. Especially on a cruise, since the chance to be isolated in the room by staff is always there.
My guess is any flight that stop over in US probably a no go already. Canada won't ban flights but I'm sure cost skyrocketed if US airports are out of play for stop overs. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Got a niece (March) and nephew (May) weddings that was happening in HK and Macau. Nobody is showing up now and everything is moved down 6 months hoping this thing dies down by July like SARS.
Friend is a still brave enough to take wife and 3 year old to visit Grandma in Japan tho. Flight is cheap.
As for myself, I'm only planning for Austin F1 this year as my only international trip. So really nothing to worry about other than hoping for Coronavirus flight discount (Like flying to DC is only $350 via AC in Sep right now).

Just got a lengthy email from the cruise line advising of the additional steps they are taking to ensure health safety due to the coronavirus. Apparently they are implementing a lot of additional measures, including not allowing people to take the cruise if they have been to China, Hong Kong or Macau 14 days prior to the cruise. A lot of other checks before boarding as well - which is good. Gives me a little peace of mind.
How do they screen for people who don’t report where they have been? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Girlfriend cancelled her trip to Vietnam this month. Just not really worth the risk, even if it's just potentially getting stranded in Asia. She already was to be rerouted because of a layover in Shanghai originally.
We have a trip booked to Korea/Japan in April that we'd like to still go on, so hopefully things somewhat clear up soon.
I assume they can check your passport and see what stamps you've had on there. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
