The cc charge back seems to be the best way and I'm sure visa and westjet have a good understanding of each other by now.
Yes, I have delayed trips due to concerns with the virus.
No, I am proceeding as planned with all travel.
Yes, but I will take precautions and still go.
The Corona threat is all a bunch of hogwash.

I tried calling Air Canada to check on the capacity of a flight (to see if it's going to get canceled or not) and the phone message simply says their call volume is exceeded and they are not taking additional calls or doing call-backs. Lol.
Did they remove the ability to check on their website with the seat preview? I haven't booked a flight in a long time. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Can you do that without booking a flight? If so, I didn't know about that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If I had booked, then I should be able to see that, but I don't want to gamble being stuck with another $1500 of credit just to check if I don't have to. AC and WJ have canceled all but 1 flight I have booked in the last 2 years, even after calling them and being assured they wouldn't be canceled haha. So I think the best thing I can do is just see how full it is - a full plane makes money and will fly.
Yup just confirmed, feature still exists. Search for any flight, on the results page there is a link called "Preview Seats" that shows the seats that have been booked. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I see that now, thanks. Most of the seats have a dollar amount on them which obviously means I can pay to reserve them, but I am not sure if that also means that they are truly empty, or if nobody has reserved them yet and there are more people on the flight but simply haven't had their automatic seat designation done yet. It's still better information than I had before though no doubt. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Feds working on a centralized vaccine passport system for international travel. Hope they don’t hire the same idiots who ran Phoenix project

If I am not mistaken, even the threat of vaccine passports have caused a huge increase in people getting vaccinated - love the idea personally. Hope they do it for flu shots and other vaccinations too.
How about just a simple stamp, or added line at the front of my existing passport? Nah, too simple. Need to waste a few hundred million on this.

I doubt Alberta opts in to the domestic proof of vaxx feature but could see other provinces doing it. Quebec most likely will. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It might even be Quebec that I'm thinking of, where the possibility of the passport caused a huge increase in vaccinations. I could see AB opting out haha. People would probably care more if it prevented international travel though I guess. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
No chance Kenney back peddles and ever does any kind of vaccine proof system here. It would be nice though if the federal government makes a standardized system and then businesses can opt into using it as necessary. Restaurant? Stupid place for it. Music festival? Probably a good idea.
Didn’t we just get rid of carding because it was racist?

Bump. Anyone know? Hard to tell. I know as of august 9th, Americans can come in which has created a huge influx of tourists, selling out places like whistler. I’d like to go down to Colorado to visit with some old friends and ride some bikes but don’t know if I’ll just be turned around. CheersThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Anyone have any insider info as to whether Westjet will extend their no change/cancellation fees past the end of August when it's slated to end?
Also wtf is with their seat selection racket they have going on now, jesus. Will spend an extra $200+ just on seat selection for 2 people, what a rip off.
