I own property there. I have a right to tend to my property and visit the property that I own and pay property taxes on.
We have no rights in Canuckistan.

We are working hard on the right to not be offended though. Apparently that’s an important one.

I have a need to ensure that the property I own and pay taxes on is safe, secure and maintained well enough to survive another winter. I'm obligated to ensure this to uphold my end of the contract with my insurance provider.

Capital One just refunded me the entire West Jet credit amount. Super painless too. I love this card so much. No need to dick around with WestJet at all, just dispute the charge and you're good to go.

Hopefully West Jet still leaves me with the credit haha.

WestJet refunded my Paris trip today.

Spoke with Airbnb and they told me I have to wait till July.1st to claim a full refund for my two bookings.

Is it only WestJet doing refunds? Still want mine from Air Transat, and they will not budge.

I probably will. I have about 350k miles that I want to use up before the likely upcoming devaluation. I'll book two mini-RTW in Business later this year (for travel next year) which leaves enough left over for 2 North America flights.

Is there another reason why some of you guys still chasing refunds through the vendor? Just dispute the charge with your CC and be done with it. It's so much less hassle than the back & forth with the airlines. If the vendor isn't refunding you actual cash, the CC company will reimburse you.

The 50% back offer needs to be booked by July 1 and travel has to be before Oct 15, 2020. This deal seemed really good at first but its limited to Canada/USA travel only.

I wouldn't want to travel outside on NA for the rest of the year anyways. Probably not even out of Canada.

Not only that, but the inital flights have to be made by October 15th as well.

I just told them the truth. WestJet refunded me with credit that expires, and therefore is not as good as cash and there is no way to guarantee that I will be able to travel to where I want before the expiry date (you can pay WestJet even more money to extend it, of course). They agreed and I got a full refund without having to fight with WestJet. I'm expecting WestJet to pull my credit as a result (it's only fair) but if they don't, fine with me haha.

Talking to the vendor or trying to go through insurance is futile and time consuming - for any matter like this just dispute the charge and if your CC company is any good, they will help you out.

Are you still rocking the grandfathered Capital One World Elite Mastercard?

Yes sir. Best card ever (for me anyway). Fingers crossed it doesn't go away or become garbage like Rogers did to their MasterCard effective June 1.

Capital One even bailed me out of ~$12K fraudulent charges when my CC was stolen in a Vegas Strip Club. I don't know how many companies would do that, let alone believe me (because I was also there). I am a customer for life as long as they let me keep that card haha.

I've also never been denied a claim or a perk (like price protection) on that card to date.
