I am just going to drive down and gamble that there will be vaccine travel passports between US/Can by July-August.
FWIW - Allianz global sells US travel insurance to Canadians right now.
Yes, I have delayed trips due to concerns with the virus.
No, I am proceeding as planned with all travel.
Yes, but I will take precautions and still go.
The Corona threat is all a bunch of hogwash.

Need to take a car down before I could drive it back - from what I hear rental car companies aren't letting you drive cars back (which is why people were driving uhauls back). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There's American cars at the Calgary rental companies that they'd allow one-way rentals to the USA with no problem.

Anyone traveling or planning to travel in October? I think that's when majority of Albertans should receive their second shot therefore fully vaccinated.
I'm not buying travel until after the restrictions are lifted. I will not be an "early adopter".

We aren't planning to leave the province until our Feb. Hawaii trip. Fuck BC.
Also, I'm glad I paid in full for our VRBO in Hawaii, because prices have doubled since I booked. Even with our better dollar now, still way ahead.

Yeah, once quarantine rules get lifted I'm curious if airlines will suddenly impose restrictions on credits (i.e. can't be used during peak seasons, etc.)
Why would they care? If demand skyrockets they are free to overcharge. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Credits are like cash, I don’t think there are a lot of ways they can limit redemption legally. Then again Airlines are garbage sewers of businesses so I’m sure they have some kind of exception to contract law.

We booked most of our trip next summer to Europe about a month ago to be safe.
True. Fair point.

we are hoping to get our 2nd Pfizer shot in September.
we booked this earlier this year in anticipation of vaccine rollout.
I doubt they'll do restrictions as there would be a lot of pushback but you can bet for sure prices are going up. That thousand dollar flight is now 1,300$. So you are welcome to use your 1,000$ in credits but also give them new revenue as well to make up for things. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm shocked it's not for October 2021, but yeah, not surprised. It's much less risky now than last time you talked about it. Things are moving in the right direction worldwide, even here in Canuskistan. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
