What's the cheapest location for pcr tests?
    Found $95 at https://equityhealthservices.com/covid-testing/

Or is randomly testing positive because you previously had covid a month ago, still a thing?

Any reason why you’re going for a PCR test vs Antigen?

YYC-LHR was a breeze; CDG-YYC asked for ArriveCAN so I just did it an hour before rofl

It was bumping full when we got there . We thought 3 hours was adequate so you’re not rushed.

I thought this would allow me to not need a day before test or risk testing positive at airport given I recently had covid 90 days or less prior?

Correct me if this is a good idea. New to Covid travels and having this virus.

I would personally go for antigen tests if only because they are less sensitive. PCR you are just asking for a positive.

Getting a test day before is nbd, esp if you book more than a day in advance.

Where are you travelling that's still asking for negative tests?

Portugal apparently still needs a negative test to enter. Had to book some crazy pricey ones for our trip due to timeline unfortunately.

I flew to Phoenix via WestJet May 17 and not once was I asked for my negative test. Pissed me off that I wasted $80 on two tests at shoppers and I kid you not but at least 12 people on that flight sneezed, coughed and blew their nose the entire 3 hour flight.

came back 7 days later on another flight full of sick people myself included and tested positive the next day that I was in Calgary.

Well it’s a very clear requirement so I wouldn’t rely on that experience lol.

When I went in mid April WestJet checked my tests on check in and remarked it on my ticket.

No requirement to come back to Canada though.

100% I read the rules before we flew out. Was just surprised that the WJ agent that took my checked baggage and the US customs agent didnt ask me for a proof of negative test. On the way back the WJ agent in Phoenix did ask to see my arrivecan QR code before she let me check our luggage.

Maybe the lady in Calgary just forgot to ask me

This is like not declaring everything at customs.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. But if you don't there's a bigger downside than if you just played the house rules.

Yes. This for USA travel. Then you're good for 90 days, right? As long as it is positive.

    This.

If you’re looking for a definite positive then PCR. You don’t need a test on the return so personally, I’d get an antigen test.

If you have those free kits, do one before you pay for one so you get a preview of what the results will be

When I flew to JFK a while back the lady asked for my results so it’s better to have one than don’t when you get asked.

USA travel restrictions have been a big problem for professional sports teams.

Our guys had their US work visas reactivated in February and they definitely tested on the way down back then...but none of them have mentioned having to continue getting tests

That being said, they all caught covid down there, so maybe they were still using their positive test results for a bit

Should have my US Visa in July, hope the restrictions and masks on a plane are lifted by then

I suspect they hold ontop the test requirements until after tourist season. But who knows, Boomers in power have different plans.
