FFS this is getting stupid. It looks like we may lose out on our cruise next weekend, a couple of cruise lines have now suspended all operations for sixty days so it wouldn't surprise me if ours (Royal Caribbean) follows suit. Trying to get a hold of WestJet currently has a SIX HOUR hold time.

You may have better luck with the online chat and requesting a callback.

I did the request a callback, not expecting much though if previous experience with Shaw is any indication. As for the chat, I left a window open overnight and never received a reply.

My parents cancelled their US trip for next week, they haven’t made a decision on their Italian and med trip for October yet.

Id check your pesonal travel insurance.. my agent told me that if there is any Canada wide travel warning,(Such as Italy and Cruise Ships) your insurance would be null and void if you still went.

Once WHO calls it a pandemic, insurance have excuses to avoid covering you.

Worth mentioning, my comment was in regards to health insurance while traveling, not travel cancellation insurance.

It's looking doubtful at this point. If the boat is only half full I can't see how it's feasible for a cruise line to still run it. I suspect there will be official cancellations in the next day or two.

So here's the rub with the trip cancellation insurance, one of the qualifying triggers is an official government advisory against travelling to the booked destination. The Government of Canada has issued an advisory against all cruise ship travel so I thought BINGO! Nope. Because Royal Caribbean is offering to re-book at no charge until December 31, 2021 for the cancellation insurance to apply the travel advisory from the government would need to stay in place THE ENTIRE TIME!

Broadway suspended all shows until April 12th, so we're looking at cancelling our trip to NYC for next week. Westjet is cancelling for free, but Expedia hasn't said anything on their policy. We have to call the TD rewards line, since it was booked through them, but the wife's CC that it was booked on has trip cancellation, so hopefully that covers us.

I think I might go drive down to Phoenix and work from there until further notice.

My sister is getting married in Hawaii, we are leaving April 22. I am getting a little paranoid about flying with my family, wife and my 2 daughters. All I can do it wait to see what things look like nearing end of April looks like. My 83yr old Grandmother has decided she is not going, walking away from $1600 + 222,000 air miles. It will suck to walk away from a $4400 trip

Well looks like we’re going to cancel our Mexico trip for the end of the month. Booked with air transat and they are willing to give us a credit if we cancel or rebook for another time without incurring fees. This changed from yesterday when they said it was up to our insurance company since we didn’t include travel insurance with them.

I feel really bad for a co-worker. Him and his wife are avid cruise line goers (for the past 20 years). She found out last December that she has stage 4 cancer, so their next trip in April will literally be the last one together, but now it's likely cancelled.

We are getting a lot of pressure from family to cancel our trip to Mexico on thursday...where I have gone the opposite direction and started looking at going earlier. Hockey season is cancelled, school will likely be shut down, no idea on work. Id be happy to go to a place with 0 reported cases, miss out on this weather, hysteria and not worry about grocery stores and whatever other shit. Sit on the beach with the only Corona on my mind being the beer.

Ive been told its being selfish... but to me it sounds like the safest plan of action for my family.
