Been on 6 planes since this pandemic began, no issues with being on a plane at all, for me it all came down to the 14 day quarantine period.

Now that my work is 100% work from home, i'll definitely be heading down south for a month or two in the next month or so to enjoy the sun (from Vancouver, fu$k the rain).

Yea I had a flight booked to NS for thanksgiving but I cancelled that since they aren’t backing down on the 14 day quarantine for people outside of their maritime bubble.

I have less than no problems getting on a flight right now.

Any issues with people hauling their office setups elsewhere for the winter?

Some companies don't care. Some require "local" location. Your work health insurance and WCB may not be valid if your place of work changes.

    They aren't??!? Are you certain?
I thought Nova Scotia never fully implemented the 14-day quarantine which made a further mockery of the "Maritime Bubble" because all the other morons didn't realize their most populous neighbour want enforcing quarantine.

I think there's conflicting information about this and you should triple check before ruining a nice trip.

For a person who believes in the effectiveness of masking and understands virus load, etc, may I ask why this is over the line of your comfort zone? (Not criticizing in any way! Just curious on other's views).

I didn't fly for months and certainly wouldn't want to weekly or anything. But I have now done it.

Ugh, both my parents have basically said they're itching to go down to the US the second the border opens so that they can escape winter. One goes to Arizona and the other to Nevada/Cali. Trying to talk sense into them that they shouldn't be rushing down but apparently one winter sounds worse than the current situation in the US.

It's a numbers game. Why take unnecessary risks?

    It’s pretty definitive

Everyone who travels from outside Atlantic Canada into Nova Scotia (including post-secondary students and if you’re travelling through Nova Scotia to another destination) must self-isolate for 14 days when they arrive in Nova Scotia, or for the duration of their stay if it’s less than 14 days.
So unless I wanted to spend my trip in my in laws basement, no dice.

My understanding from family there is they are pretty litigious about it too, about it is difficult to enforce I suppose

It'd probably be far too much but I wonder if we could get to the point where every returning passenger for flights takes a covid test. YYC stats say currently 300k passengerper month (down from ~1.2 mill pre-covid). So that's roughly 5,000 people per day arriving at Calgary .... a bit more expanded testing and that could be feasible to do.

Might even be less because of layovers actually.

My understanding is that incidence of covid linked to travel is essentially non-existent since April.

It’s here and we are giving it to each other, people bringing it here isn’t a significant source of cases.

The real wealthy ones are already on their Caribbean islands, they don’t travel by planes when they can just rip around on their boat worth more than most downtown office buildings.
The only people that travel on yachts are the crew. Owners dictate where and when they want the yacht, and they meet it there.

I'm all about Air Canada now. Since west jet screwed me around on a refund. Wife has flown twice, and I once, in the past month. Don't think I'd go international any time soon though. (I know Air Canada prob would have done the same in regards to the refund)

Being loyal to any particular airline is like deciding which Islamic terrorist group you like best. Just fly whoever is cheapest or gives you the best seat for a given flight.

PLO all the way. Yassir even flipped the script and got a Peace Prize.
