Same people that got mad when Canadian government doesn't charter a plane to bring people home.

My Mexico trio had to be cancelled next week, largely becuase if we returned, my gf would not be able to take part in her next rotation at Western College of Veterinary Medicine, thus taking her out of this years graduating class.

We are gong to the island and BC instead for a week

Poland, Denmark, Czechoslovakia all closed their borders.

My coworker is now stranded in Poland for at least 10 days.

Now I understand why warning to Canadian abroad to come back ASAP.

Yup. It's cheap to leave but good luck with trying to return home

Well Canada updated it's travel advisory now to include all countries so I was able to cancel my US flights next weekend for credits without penalty finally. Happy as it was looking like I might just lose that whole amount

Apparently the backup was caused because of extra screening for the virus.

From the Alberta Gov website. If any of you knuckleheads know anyone on these flights, please inform them. If they are dismissive, you are probably authorized to bitch slap them until they comply.

So Westjet call centre isn't even connecting...just curious, what is happening to all these people who have flights booked and are not going to show up? Is Westjet going to say too bad so sad? Or can people just go to their travel insurer and say look, there's a government travel advisory and I couldn't get through to Westjet to cancel, and then pray they get their claim paid?

I know a flight attendant from one of those flights and they were put under quarantine. She has been waiting for a test but no luck.

If she’s under quarantine, what would change if she was tested, besides becoming a statistic? Is she sick?

Required to get tested before going back to work.Of course that's pending the inevitable layoffs the airlines will have to do.......

She is feeling fine, and more than likely in the clear, but in the category that may not even show symptoms.

a border guard at Toronto Pearson airport is confirmed to have the virus. They dont know for how long or how many people he would have been in contact with... I'd imagine it's a long list of people he would see every day.

I saw this earlier - I flew Toronto to Calgary and back to Toronto between some of those dates so had to double check to make sure those weren't my flights.
