if your not getting a refund you should be requesting a charge back on your Visa. The facebook group air passenger rights(canada) has everything you need for demanding your money back.

I'm surprised so many people are willing to take a credit or a loss on their cancelled flights.
The airlines are making it a pain in the ass. The credit card companies are starting to make it a challenge too. I had to fight with the credit card company to see what sop they would let me start the process.

My trip to Japan with AC got canceled...in October...seems premature given that they are talking about opening up and increasing service...wtf. My options are to take a hit for $400 and get refund for rest.....or take full amount for 24 month credit with some bullshit limitations. I did buy with a World Elite Credit mastercard so I think I have some insurance. Is it worth calling them about this? Since I have 5 months before the flight I don't want to do anything yet....as they say the credit is 24 month from date you cancel....even though they canceled..but make you go through the motions.

What is the best approach here? I haven't been following up since I thought October would be good to go...yet they canceled already...citing COVID 19
Really? I have a Japan trip scheduled for September and that didn't get cancelled. It's ANA but operated through Air Canada.
Also agree with flip, not sure what you mean on taking a hit? They are not refunding you fully?

Anyone thinking about making international travel plans for the next 3-6 months? Think we will be clear?

Would like to plan a trip to Austria. Will probably just book it and buy easy cancellation insurance.

Well I have a trip to Argentina in December, unsure if I wanna go even if restrictions are lifted. Peru is getting hammered and although Argentina looks better, they've only tested 1/10th of what Canada has ... so guessing its just poor numbers. But December is a long while away, here's hoping things clear up a bunch and maybe the Vaccine that due to be released in September actually happens in the 400 million dose quantity they are supposedly pushing for.

Be careful with travel insurance though, many have excluded covid relation cancellations so if you do book make sure to get the cancel for any reason kinda insurance.

There are a few major conferences that I'm supposed to go later this year. Europe in Nov and Singapore in Dec. At this point I haven't decided if it's a good idea or not. Probably no if self-quarantine is still required by then.

You really don't want to be at a conference any time soon. Like pre-vaccine.

I had rented a Cabin in Shuswap back before everything happened, for late July into early Aug. Still going to go. Nothing has really changed for how we will go about the trip, might just buy more booze and groceries at home before going.

Booked a trip to NS for October, got a friend from schools wedding and will spend a week with my in laws while I’m there.

Just trying to figure out which rental car companies aren’t bankrupt and figure out a hotel in the valley for the wedding.

Got good prices, booked premium direct with WestJet for what economy with connections through Toronto would usually cost.

There are sales galore coming out right now. So tempting hahaha.

I don't know if I could stand traveling 10+ hours with a mask on.

If things open up and quarantine isn’t a thing I’m definitely fucking off to Hawaii in August.

ALBRTA! Then they added the small ‘e’

I just can't picture booking leisure travel for any date right now. I also cannot picture doing any leisure travel until quarantine on return is not required.

    Maybe I just lack imagination?

What’s the difference between flying to another province and booking camping in BC?
