Looking to book either Italy, France or Argentina for November, leaning towards Argentina just in case we can't get the booster shot before its required in the EU. Plus weather is amazing in Argentina in Nov.

Booked a few weeks in Japan in Feb. Hope the quarantine requirements are dropped before then or else we'll have to cancel. Hotels all have good cancellation but the flights will be credits which I'm fine with.

Just got back from a week in Montreal and its like covid doesn't exist in quebec.

    Argentina is amazing!
Not sure if its still like this... but be aware of girls chatting you up in a bar/pub. They are often regular type girls (ie not professional) looking to top up their income/pay bills and get paid for some services. Granted it was ~10+ years agao that I went, but it took a while to figure out with the language barrier. ha ha..

PCR test requirement is done by the Feds to try and prevent people from travelling or make cumbersome rules that are somewhat confusing to navigate.

It appears land travel to U.S. requires no test at all. Air travel to U.S. requires an antigen test. Both methods will require non-essential travelers to be fully vaccinated.

But the return requirements to Canada are stupid.

And then there is the travel advisory issue. Currently the Feds say 'Avoid non-essential travel outside Canada until further notice'. (Link at bottom) I know some companies are following this as gospel. Because of this, there may be some rules from the employer on employee international travel as well.

US CDC says 3 days but Canada regulations say 72 hours. It matters because the test results says the time when you got swabbed. Super annoying.

Has anyone been to Vegas? Thinking about going in December but just wondering if it's worth the hassle of testing. Going to US seems easy but coming back seems more annoying. Though I've read you can get tests done for free at CVS/Wallgreens.

coworker went for a 4 day trip couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it, they had to pay for their test, they even tried going to the CVS/Wallgreens away from the strip in hope for free tests and no luck.

Any idea where they did it? Looks like this site will come to you for $199. Hopefully something cheaper is available because $400 USD for 2 people is quite pricey.

Edit: Looks like this one is $90 at Orleans Hotel (NAAT) - https://worksitelabs.com/scheduling-air/

In Pearson right now waiting for my YYC flight from the UK.

Overall it was relatively easy with the testing through clinics. PCR is expensive and they do check the time of when you got swabbed to see 72 hours timeline for ArriveCAN. Other than that, masks on board is nice if you have fresh ones in your arsenal.

The only oddity was we had to leave the post security area for the connecting flight and never had to do that. Not sure if that’s a Pearson thing or a post COVID thing to do security twice for connecting flights.

Edit: Ifanyone is going to the UK, use Randox for their services. Organized and clean facilities.

Pandemic has been over for a while.

What we have now is mostly consequence of government incompetence crossed with a moronic populous who enables them.

Flights are full because they shuffle people around to fill one flight instead of having multiple flights 1/4 full.

Oh that makes sense because my flight home was supposed to be Saturday then got bumped to Friday.

Westjet just announced they will allow you to use your companion voucher (if expiring in 2021) for booking for someone else. Means you still have to book, but you do not have to travel for the voucher to be used. Pretty good idea, although I doubt I'm going to get my voucher used even with this policy.

should mean a family of four travelling could use two vouchers instead of one now. If you had two vouchers available, for instance. I'll be investigating these options for family travel in next summer. May be organized enough to book in December.

Ah shit, didn't read the fine print. Need to book before November 4th, not just before expiry. Well, that's not likely for me personally, but might be for someone else.
