Hmm. I hate to roll the dice on this. A lot of variables in terms of health restrictions, finances etc.
Yes, I have delayed trips due to concerns with the virus.
No, I am proceeding as planned with all travel.
Yes, but I will take precautions and still go.
The Corona threat is all a bunch of hogwash.

it varies to the property, we intentionally booked some that had the option of full cancellation 1 week prior to our trip. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah I'll have to screen them that way.

Mmmm prices to LHR are so tempting around Aug/Sept right now; 692-7xx$ round trip.
I don't think G7 can action vaccine passports that quick...
Fuck it, wife and I decided to book San Diego for October. Found a flexible cancellation AirBNB we liked, now just need to phone WestJet to get them to use a combination of Companion Voucher, Travel Bank, WestJet Dollars, which is too complex for them to do on the website.

Congrats. You won’t have any issues going to SD imo

I love SD, been a few times. Also figure that USA should be the easiest travel while the rest of the world figures out how to reopen from this pandemic bullshit. Everything fully refundable too, so if we don't like the looks of things a week ahead, we can cancel everything without cost. Excited about the AirBNB too, place is fifty feet from Mission Beach. May not even need a rental car, lots for the kids to do in that area, restaurants etc.

My parents want to go to Spain this summer. That scares me a lot more.

I've done this before, and unless things have changed, here's the deal. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
1) you can only use 1 companion voucher per booking, and your primary cardholder must be travelling in every booking
2) you can only use "two payment methods" per booking when booking online. So you have to choose travel bank OR WestJet Dollars, then credit card. BUT BUT BUT, if you phone in, the nice folks in the call centre can use "two payment methods" per seat, so you can use up your travel bank and WestJet Dollars and credit card.
Pandemic phone situation isn't good though. They've suspended the call-back option, and you just have to wait on hold. Current status:

^keep us posted on how it goes.
This, it is the 14 days quarantine rule that we are waiting to change, if they don't update it before our trip in October then we will cancel it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The moment they reduce it or remove it, then we are also booking a road trip or flight to SD or LA this summer.
Well, took 2 hours and 19 minutes on hold, but got to talk to a real live human. Once you do get talking to the wonderful people at the westjet call centre, they are so sweet. There's all sorts of restrictions on how they apply payment methods, but they were able to use up all but $0.98 of my travel bank, plus a companion voucher, plus a shitpile of westjet dollars, plus my credit card. Ended up having to split my family of four into two reservations to do it, but whatever I suppose.
Did get disconnected right as we were wrapping up, but I think things are OK. we shall see.

So essentially the same as making 2 bookings online

Not quite. One of the bookings uses three payment methods. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Would like to take the wee man over to visit his Great Grandparents as I think that's the only way they'll ever meet (my grand-dad won't travel by plane anymore) and while the baby and I would have no problems going back as citizens, my wife would be subject to further rules, so as soon as they're relaxed, I'll be booking!
Don't really GAF about rules coming back to Canada as she's still on mat leave and I've got the old essential travel documentation
Sitting together is overrated for bigger kids. We run a 2x2 setup preferentially to the 3+1 across the same isle. The WJ agent had no issue getting us the seats we requested at no cost because there was a minor in the booking. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
