    Seems like Americans flocking to Banff, Waterton and other locations on the "driving to Alaska" loop hole.

    I can’t visit another part of Canada without quarantine but somehow Americans get a free pass because there is no other way by I get to Alaska?

    But don't worry, our government officials are going to "plead to Americans" to not do it. That will surely stop them.

    Maybe we can ask the UN security council to do it for us?

    Got a flight back home to NL end of July but they are still keeping it closed there to only residents with a vaild ID or health card can get in. You can apply to get a pass but based on some friends I know most are getting denied. If you are granted an exemption you have a bunch of requirements that have to be followed.

    Self-isolate for 14 days after their arrival;
    Complete and submit a form to a Government of Newfoundland and Labrador representative at their point of entry to the province;
    Provide specifics of their plan for complying with the requirement to self-isolate for 14 days; and,
    Be available for contact with public health officials during the duration of the 14-day self-isolation period.

    Guess that great seat sale that I got before this all happened is might get me to Vancouver Island when things are over

    Where did you read that you have to quarantine when visiting inside your Country?

    PEI, NB, NS and others all have it IIRC. A woman form the maritimes couldn't even attend a funeral in another province for her mother I believe because she had to quarantine first.

    B.C. still recommends that all non-essential travel beyond the B.C.-Alberta border be avoided. The province’s borders to the Yukon and Northwest Territories are also restricted to essential travel only and some highways are closed.

    Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario do not have provincial travel bans. All three provinces, however, are advising against non-essential travel

    B.C good to go !

    Can confirm that a buddy in NWT said there is road blockades up and id checked. If you're not from NWT you get sent back.

    But AB plates = tires slashed and car keyed. Happened to a few people in the shuswap and have seen some media reports of it elsewhere in BC.

    ^This.
    PEI is absolutely nuclear on the fear-mongering scale. They have zero cases and "we need to keep the island safe. We need to keep the island safe. We need to keep the island safe. We need to keep the island safe."
    Somehow they are being permitted to maintain their "state of emergency" (thanks Justin) which is allowing them to forbid property owners from vacationing there. Class action lawsuits are starting. It's a mess.

    Canada is not a country.

    Only media reports I have seen are notes left on cars. The tires slashed and keying is an old wives tale IMO. I know lots of people who have had trips to BC and no issue. I'm going next week.

    I know of a car with tires slashed at Hyde Mountain golf course and a car keyed at the Askews in Sicamous, both with AB plates.

    Do you have a need to go to PEI or are you more mad in the fact that you can't?

    I own property there. I have a right to tend to my property and visit the property that I own and pay property taxes on.
