I mean ArriveCAN is just a digital way of giving CBSA information.

They will get the information they want one way or another. You can either pre send it to them or have them ask you for it at the kiosk.

I have found the ArriveCAN drama to be entertaining. I never really understood it.

It makes sense as an optional program.

Because it's entire purpose was for verifying vaccination status, which was a violation of your rights. And then it theoretically has the ability for the government to track your movements and whereabouts to ensure you're complying with more make believe rules that violate your rights, like isolation orders.

I don't think anyone would have an issue with an electronic system to pre submit your required customs information for entry into Canada if the entire thing wasn't based on extreme government over reach and fraud.

People didn’t think they would just be able to flip CBSA off and do whatever they wanted just because the got rid of the app?

    Did they?
If they're asking for vaccination info you can now.

All I know is flying yesterday was fantastic without the need for a mask, or being harassed whenever you removed it on the plane. Now it's going to be even Sweetser next month th when I don't have 2 screwing children with me

We flew out on the 30 and in the Calgary airport we still had to wear masks but the second we got into the customs line there was an officer standing to the side saying out loud that we didnt have to wear masks anymore and not to judge others that did Coming home without having to test was a nice cap off lol

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

I know almost every family that's flown in the last while come back and are sick. Home test or medical field work test indicates Wuhan Flu v6.

Came back from YYZ 12 days ago. Since then 11 days of congestion and phlegm, no other symptoms though. Negative on home test. Daycare disease of the month?

There was certainly some nasty daycare disease going around.

I was put on my ass for 24 hours a week and a half ago and have been touch and go since.

Hand foot and mouth was going around in Aug-Sept. That'll put you out of commission for a while.

One of my kids brought something home from preschool or one of their activities a couple weeks ago, and it has been brutal. Some type of head cold that I just can't shake. Nearing week three. Might have to see if I can relieve some of my head congestion with a pistol if it doesn't go away soon.

Never heard of it until I got it. Fml. Basically had my pre pandemic practice quarantine with it. Blisters on hands and feet.
Apparently it can blister on any other mucus membrane too.
    Worse for adults.

Yea it sucks ass. I had it more than 15years ago. Crazy high fever causing hallucinations. Slept for 28h straight. I was working in a bank at the time and they forced me to come in to work, I was guzzling Buckely's cold and flu every 30 mins; branch was closed for a week afterwards. Didn't know what it was until the blisters appeared on hands, feet, and back of throat. Bad times.

WAY worse for toddlers. Generally doesn't affect you if you're over 5 years old. Would definitely suck though if you're a rare adult case. My 1 year old got it in Mexico in February. Rash all over his groin and butt, and on his face. Definitely had some really bad sores in his throat and mouth, couldn't eat or drink anything without serious pain. The 41 degree fever was a bit scary.

It seems you have to double dose them with a full kids dose of Advil and Tylenol to bring that fever down. I've seen that more than once, now. It's awful.
And now it's exacerbated by the shortage of liquid children's medicine.

I finally got some of both, but it's been about 4 months of shortage in those medicines. Super frustrating.

Inadvertently hoarded this shit. Mostly from incompetence pre Covid when asked if we had any childrens advil left lol.

Gotta use em all up before they expire in the next year.

I thought the shortage was mostly infant liquid advil and Tylenol.

Yeah, I think it was the liquids that were in short supply, but not just infants. I finally got some last week.

Those pills are terrible. My kids bitched about them enough that I finally took one, and wow - they produce this burning, itchy sensation in your throat.

Teach your kids young how to swallow pills. Really pays off. Johns Hopkins has a free system that is very effective.

Reminds me of being a kid in the hospital. Hospital policy at the time is that kids don't get pills till they're over a certain age due to some potential choking hazard or something. I don't remember the exact age details and whatnot, I was 8. My Mom told the nurse, "He does not take liquid medication, just give him pill form." Nurse was adamant that was not happening. Gives me the liquid, I proceed to immediately puke my guts all over the bed. Nurse gets all pissy that she has to change sheets now. My Mom is just like "Told you."
