Friends went to kelowna last week. Fingered multiple times in the highway. Told to fuck off at the gas station.

Drove with locals there, figured it wasn't worth the headache

AFAIK most Albertans are flying in and renting a car for the BC plate. I wouldn't drive a car I cared about to BC since COVID started haha. Close to the boarder though, places like Emerald Lake, I bet it's 90% Alberta plates still. Could rent a car here too I guess and just buy the insurance.

Last year my wife's friend had their 5th wheel camper tires slashed around Golden at a gas station.

In Kelowna currently. No issues driving or while we’ve been here. There was also no fingering on the highway, she kept pushing my hand away.
    I like neat cars.

Not to call BS but with cases dropping like a rock and both provinces reopening I sorta find it hard to believe right now. A month or two ago sure but right now, Kelowna should be jumping for tourism to be back

You know most of the interior BC are entirely illiterate to the concept of the economy right?

I would assume majority of Kelowna/Okanagan valley are on fixed income and could care less if tourism survives.

I booked a flight to Kelowna in August and it was $580 so I am pretty sure they are expecting a ton of Calgarians to go there haha.

The friend going with me booked out of Edmonton and it was $169

    Just the latest maritimes lol

They try and open the border, just to NB mind you. And the crazies come out and block the highway to keep the province shut down

Imagine if we lived in a country. I mean like a place where every chicken-shit fiefdom couldn't set their own timezone, close roads and declare flat earthedness.
    Wouldn't that be amazing?

Economy? They got it, government handouts then money goes to liquor store and grocery. Then you just wait for the next transfer of wealth.

Most locals do NOT want tourism there. Their jobs don't directly rely on it, so all it does is ruin their commute and clog up the stores and restaurants.
