TPIM, I know you have thoughts on this. Apparently routine travel into and out of a region with quarantine requirement is a hassle.

I haven't looked too far into this new shit, yet. But at the end of the day, it's rules being made by people as competent as the ones who can't get their shit together well enough to tell you if your kid is supposed to go to school today, or not. (You mentioned in that other thread).

If they are going to (or already are) making Canadian rotational workers isolate in NB and PEI, get ready for some hospitals to close. A shit pile of hospital staff travel in for shifts from as far away as Ontario! It's really weird.

The Maritime provinces are truly bizarre. The people who live there can't work there, and the people who work there don't want to live there. And government money seems to be the only constant. Totally dysfunctional economy.

It's honestly insanely terrible living there for multiple reasons, but this is one of them. Brother in law who has been working out here in O&G related jobs for the past 5+ years got laid off earlier 2020 and has been looking for work ever since... which is next to none on PEI and even in general elsewhere thanks to covid.

He's back to looking out of province for work, and yet again I ask my sister why the fuck haven't they just moved elsewhere...but the answer is islander mindset and have never lived off island, you become lifers.

When I lived there the people generally articulated it as being “Albertas Fault”.

That's an article posted by Ezra Levants tabloid, reporting on a Facebook post without even interviewing anyone.

To be fair, is that really any different than 90% of the local news reports that are done?

Put some irrelevant person with a grievance in front of a camera, color commentary while panning over stock footage, and no comment from whatever company/government/department is being talked about (presumably because it was filmed about 15 minutes before the piece airs).

That’s a 10 minute story for global news right there! 5 more of those and you filled a news hour!

    Local news sickens me

It’s a good thing global investigated it further to set the record straight:

    https://globalnews.ca/news/7608569/e...covid-19-test/

So basically if you want to travel, make sure you RTFM carefully to avoid any problem when you come back

My friend is a physician from NB and she moved here about 4 years ago. She nets an extra $100k/year in AB compared to NB.
It's bananas. They really miss it and they loved it there, but... Come on.

How TF did she get on the plane then? Not like airline staff aren't trained to notice this, they kicked like 20 people off of flights the first day this was a rule for this exact thing.

Yes. A lot of beautiful scenery and awesome colors in the fall. Cabot Trail is one of my all time favorite drives.

I'm biased though, I grew up out east.

So people want exemptions from mandatory quarantine? It's that would make it optional, wouldn't it?

If only Justin has warned them and asked them to "come home now" before this point. Blame. Justin.

Isn’t the Biden admin’s immigration policy basically a Free for all now?

I guess my thought is, why come back.

    They did come home.

Then it got cold again, and they went out of their way to go back to the US by having their RV's trucked over the border. Yeah, I say fuck'em all.
