Trial of rapid testing for international flight? I think so... delta and AC up over 6%. What else happened today? WJ giving back money?? Haha
Talks of 737max getting approvals to return to service in the US for holiday season possibly also contributing to it.

Has anyone been to Asia for recreation since Covid?
Trying to figure out why some flights get cancelled, and some do not, which really fucks up how you are able to get a refund for flights, or involves cancellation fees.

Specifically wondering about Japan. Any Canadians go to Japan in the past couple months? Or had a trip booked, but cancelled and had to deal with BS cancellation fees?

FlightHub was adamantly telling us that the flight is still scheduled so if we want to cancel or ANA flight, we had to pay a cancellation fee. Whereas if the flight was cancelled automatically, no charge. Made no sense to me.

Is there anywhere in Calgary to get private COVID Testing? With places like Hawaii open now but with a narrow 72hr negative test window, I feel like you wouldn't be able to rely on AHS testing results to come in on time.
I read on flyer talk that there isn’t anywhere in Canada to get an approved test that Hawaii recognizes. You have to transit through the US and get a test somewhere on the mainland.

As far as I’m aware, AC and WS aren’t resuming direct flights to Hawaii. I’d be on the first flight otherwise.

All certified test locations are in USA. Great resource for Canadians.
So just take the PJ down to Mainland USA. Test, chopper to yacht off coast of Washington. Get results and fly to Hawaii.
    Got it.

Kauai is pretty hardcore with keeping tabs on visitors, if you can go then plan to stay in your rental for the 2 week quarantine

    I must be blessed.

I’m currently down in the USA and whenever I come back to Canada I just tell the boarder guards, “ I have to go pick something up at Richie Brothers” and they tell me I don’t need to quarantine.... Seriously though, I’m not sick, I barely see anyone while I’m down here.

Makes for easy travels back and forth.

I was told our flight wasn't cancelled even though there were many that were during our timeframe and I had no idea what the differences were. And I did not want to wait so close to the actual flight and risk not even getting any money back.

We are still banned and must be on exception list to get in. Even if you are on exception, it's 14 days quarantine.

They are easing for business travel for some countries but still no tourists.

Eligible travelers will have to test negative for COVID-19 before entering Japan and upon arrival in Japan, while their sponsors, such as companies or organizations which support them, will be expected to ensure their self-isolation for 14 days, during which time they will not be allowed to use public transport.
I hope your ticket is a lot further out and the world get over this by then.

I don't see how Japan will let tourists in until numbers of infection slows.

Yeah we were actually reading about that on the weekend, they require a specific test and I haven't been able to find out how to get in Calgary yet.

I also have been checking daily for AC/WS to post flights to Hawaii and I haven't seen any yet. Same deal for us, we are going the instant we are able.

That's a bit click-baitey - you only have to quarantine for 2 weeks if you can't provide a negative test. As far as I can tell, the problem is only if you break the rules and are dumb enough to try and sneak in without a negative test. Those mug shots are pretty funny though haha.

Whether it’s a good deal or not becomes pretty irrelevant if no one can take advantage of it lol.

I’m assuming it’s a good deal because they can’t fill the planes lol.

I think anything under $1K to get off this continent is decent.

That said, I think I have flown to Frankfurt for about this much before but not 1st tier airline like KLM tho.

No kissing, 69 ok if you are going to AMS for the pros

EDIT: NVM that's old news, looks like closing due to lack of business.
