Default Thinking of moving to airdrie.

I dont know anything about the areas in airdrie. My one buddy lives in kings heights which seems like a decent area.

What areas are decent in airdrie? I'm no baller, so no baller areas lol

I hope you like driving 30 everywhere. Aside from that Airdrie is good. I like the existing neighbourhoods like Summerhill and Jensen. Are those baller? Does Airdrie have baller areas?

Had a minute and surfed MLS a bit. Seems like detached homes in Kings are in the 300-400 range. Summerhill and Jensen may be tough to stay in that range. Or maybe there just aren't many homes for sale in those areas, because people never move out. I can't say, I haven't lived in Airdrie for decades.

$299 for 2141 SUMMERFIELD BV SE MLS Number: C4284820. Seems to come with an El Camino, so that's an incredible value. Not the nicest end of Summerhill, but quick walk to the corner store, so that's not nothing.

I do the opposite commute. I'm always shaking my head going S/B, seeing the massive N/B line ups at Yankee Valley, and also after I get into Calgary (Beddington of course).

Wait wait wait, Oversized heated double garage, plus RV parking, Plus, one of the few residential areas of town you can get back into in the afternon easily.

Best part would be Ricky and Julian living down the street! Watch out for the bottle kids though.

I'm betting you get the same level of trashy people in Kings heights as that area. Neither one is Aspen, that's for sure.

Based on my quick MLS searching, seems like Coopers Crossing as the aspen of Airdrie. Good selection of homes over $800,000 and a couple of $1,000,000.

I wouldn't suggest it if you work in Calgary, but otherwise it's fine.

~75k people and only two overpasses over the QE2..

I've been in Midtown since Oct 2016. We were actually the first single family double front drive owners, paid $470,000 at the time, Shane Homes cookie cutter.

Midtown is great for getting on the highway, takes me exactly 7 minutes to get to highway via Edmonton Trail exit. Took me 2 years to figure out that route after getting frustrated taking Yankee as sometimes it can be up to half hour of traffic just to get you the highway.

Only bad thing about Midtown is that it's right next to Luxstome which seems to have a lot of crime and really cheap houses for some reason... aesthetically it's a lot like Coventry (Luxstone is) but Midtowm is still really new and lots of new lots left.. I'm hoping our values are similar to Coopers and Bayside once it's all done... then we're selling any moving back to Calgary.

Buy from Shane and we'll split the referral fee

I work 9-5 downtown and it takes me 30-35 min total to get to my parking in Bridgeland...we came from Evanston where it's an absolute going show to get the DF down Beddington... I'd take this commute any day.

Thanks. I was looking at luxstone, any particular reason why theres more crime up that way that you might know of?

I don’t understand airdrie, there is basically no savings over Calgary. If you don’t need to commute within the city then why not just buy an acreage? Who the hell wants to deal with that traffic and that many shitty neighbours

Woman wont live in calgary and an acreage around there is more than likely not in my price range.

What’s the price range? Probably something affordable between where you are now and the city

You didn't say a price range. I just guessed based on your first post, and rounded down.
