You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

I occasionally use Detailz for work and they have been very good.

We have white interior in the X5 and the white seatbelts are looking real dirty. Soap and water isn't working.

Any recommendations without spending hundreds ???

Spray on some diluted all purpose cleaner/degreaser, agitate with a soft brush, wipe clean with a damp microfiber. If you have a steamer it will work even better with the APC.

You can also try carpet/fabric cleaners if that doesn't work.

oh carpet cleaner. .that's a good idea.

I tried soaking it with all purpose cleaning and scrubbing it.. it got better, but still noticeably dirty. compared to the sections they are not exposed. Will give carpet cleaner a try.

Automotive APC is usually a lot stronger than just dish soap (most of them are even caustic unless they're citrus based), but if that doesn't work then yeah try some carpet cleaner or even laundry stain remover for tougher spots. Scrub with a brush or something with bristles if you can, to get into the weave of the seat belt. If you're using something particularly strong, test it at the base out of sight first in case it discolors or something.

Don't forget to Scotchgard it after. Seat belts are stain magnets.

It's been a while, and my car is overdue. Since Clearwash by Lake Fraser closed, I've been pretty happy with the 58 ave Bubbles. Inexpensive too.
