Humble brags are worse than (normal?) brags, IMO, because there is that extra layer of arrogance in assuming that people don't know exactly what you're trying to do. I feel sorry for those people tbh as there are usually some other underlying issues that make them feel like they need to do that, as they aren't fooling anyone. Most social media platforms are similar in that they provide a springboard for that type of behavior.
I suspect that 95% of the members here are decent people in 'real life' who would never say half of the stuff they do on here in person. Everyone I've ever personally met from Beyond over the years has been great and hopefully I have met that same standard.
Also, with text, it's difficult to judge tone and it's easier to take something the wrong way which will naturally breed more disagreements than if the conversation was had in person. Some people are just better at articulating exactly what they mean via text than others - I know I've been guilty of doing a poor job of explaining myself on multiple occasions. My overall impression is that most people here are a diverse group of totally normal individuals that would likely be easy to get along with face to face.
