I toyed with this idea a little while back. IIRC the G55 is not super reliable.

The one thing I couldn't get over is unless you can afford a new one, the interior is absolutely dreadful (which is what you'd be getting on a G55-era vehicle). The cool factor does not outweigh how 90's they are inside.

The stigma of owning a G-Wagon is enough for me not to own one.
Too many trophy wives and mainland Chinese people driving them as status symbols.

All you see is G-Wagon and Tesla Model X in Richmond, BC. Similar but less common demographic elsewhere. Maybe the white guy once in a while more common here than there.

That is even worse then. Because maybe some think it is ugly but STILL buy it because to flaunt status hahah.

Every G-wagon I've ever seen has been driven by a 40-50yo Asian woman.

You have to live in a ritzy neighborhood like mine. I see Lambo's, Ferraris, Porsches, Rolls Royce's and Tesla's on a daily basis.

$4600 a month can you can forever have the most current G wagon out, and it includes insurance! If it were only a summer vehicle, I'd definitely would want the cabriolet version...assuming I could afford it.

It is 100% a trophy wife vehicle. There is a heap of G63s at my golf course, all of them driven by 40yo+ women that I can only assume are at Barre classes or driving their kids to Webber when they're not at the golf course.

Doesn't make it any less cool though. And from what I've heard they're pretty fun (like the same way that a Jeep SRT8 is fun). I could care less about douche/trophy wife factor, people can think what they want.

They handle like a brick, interior has military level amenities, the wind noise is unbearable at any kind of speed and they are not that reliable. So ya, highly recommend one to flex on the peasants.

Make sure you upgrade the front to the LED driving lights to really flex.

The diesel ones they don’t sell here are pretty reliable.

AMG is going I come with amg tax across the board, aside from the sound I dunno who would bother with the AMG. None of them are quick.

If they sold the G Professional here like they do in Europe that would be my ideal DD SUV. But they don’t, and here all they are are status symbols. Too bad really.
