I think we'd be stupid to not drill tens of thousands of strats. Just have a look around, and then plug and abandon. Let's see what's under the basement just for the fuck of it. Producing oil is for losers. Drilling is where it's at.

    Yes... But it's quite dominant.
Still, let's ignore it an pretend that China has hundreds of acres of massive tanks that aren't bermed and are only made of quarter-inch plate instead of 3/8" or whatever. It still doesn't matter. Oil has always flowed. There is no motivation to construct billions of dollars of tanks to hoard 18 months worth of something that has always been mere days away.

Anything of strategic importance, money is no object when it comes to CCP.

And doesn't US have close to 800M barrel of storage capacity?

Athabasca Oil Corp saying their heavy project requires a break-even WCS price of $37.50 USD/B is a sign of what we are up against.

Isn't their operation one of the most cost heavy though?

Athabasca isn't the most efficient company at all.
They won't be around much longer to be honest.

Well, aside from the obvious purchase of PPL, if a guy scraped together a couple of coins, and wanted something diversified with some "pop", I think VCN beats VGRO because it is all equity. Thoughts?
Normally I love investing the US mid-cap, but this exchange makes it kind of tough to stomach.

Several Oil producers that I think are great value, even today, but I'm not sure my blood pressure can handle it.

well, just invest in @killramos and you'll do fine. But more seriously, I absolutely can't give recommendations for that.

VCN and VGRO are not directly comparable. One is a Canadian index, the other is global.

If you want a diversified, all equity play, look at VEQT.

VEQT is what I have started to purchase. Only potential issue could be is I think its trading volume is a little low. (Haven't looked at the others volume to compare though)

    In general pretty good.

    Regarding investing:

I don't retire for 25 + years - my investments are down probably 15% I can wait it out.

I think he was referring to the fact that as Albertans, we are all now invested in this project.

Given what Trump has done to coal regulations, I imagine he'll just threaten to fire someone and the permits will magically get overruled.

And Keystone isn't a big environmental disaster like coal plants are.

S&P up 3% on news on effective covid 19 treatment from Gilead. Maybe with Trump's announcement this afternoon market is taking it well?
