Dont forget - Buffet gets better information than we do.

I learned that lesson during the financial crisis when it became apparent that BH was essentially frontrunning most of the policy decisions. Funny how that happens when you can call the President on his cell phone.

Does anybody follow how Trump's tax relief program is supposed to help?

If most people live pay cheque to pay cheque, it seems like a really bad idea to say 'no worries bros, go spend that money now and then make up for it next year'

    How those futures looking?

Edit: DJIA only down 700 points or so.

How does the futures market even work? can I get a ELI5

If im reading this chart correctly: https://liveindex.org/dow-futures/ and set it to 2 years, it looks like if we go below 22697 we would of erased all gains for the last 2 years.

    If you say so.

I'm sticking to my plan of buying every Friday at my usual amounts. I may buy some banks if they reach their 5yr low. CIBC's yield is almost 7% now... holy fuck.

Just have a look at the Nikkei & Hang Seng to get a glimpse of what will happen tomorrow.

Is it worth getting out of the markets at this point or just ride it out? Should I suicide or get into drugs?

You could hedge if you want to protect yourself a bit.
Sometimes I use leveraged inverse ETF as a short term daily hedge tool.

Jumping out of the market after a really bad week? Seems like the definition of selling low.

Maybe investors are thinking we are only down 20% right now - what if we go 40% down or 60% down. Might as well take that 20% hit and put it all in gold.

If someone thinks they have enough insight to call the NEXT 20% drop, but they didn't call the most recent 20% drop, I'd say they are fooling themselves. But hey, maybe they suddenly became smarter than the market in the last week somehow with information that isn't available to professional investors?

Did I tell you I'm full of bad decisions? I'm an idiot thought for not trusting my gut and going all cash in December. Actually met with my advisor and she talked me out of it.

Jeez TSX down 11% this morning. Worse than I thought it would be. I directed my advisor to invest my MIL 200K today hopefully we are nearing the bottom, last thing I need is someone yelling at me in Cantonese.
