Wait, did he sell the stocks? If he didn't, hes not out anything. He just needs to hold and hope for recovery.
The posts say he was in a leveraged ETF.
You don't hold and hope on those. He sold.

Can someone explain this whole HOU/HOD thing to me? I'm so confused.

I thought HOU would've opened at $0.37 as per their last new release, +/- today's oil price. Instead it still opened at >$2. So if you had HOD, you would've 3X your money, but if you had HOU, you are only down ~50%??

Stuff like INO, JNJ, ABT, MRNA, GILD etc are likely to weather the storm right now fairly well as everyone races to create a vaccine and they also receive federal support.

Yeah just look at the XBI chart. Big dip, but recovery in ~4 weeks.

This whole HOU/HOD thing is stilling confusing the heck out of me. So it's 1X now, but they are also not issuing new subscription, so it doesn't really matter right? They are not tracking the oil prices until they start issuing new subscription again?

Also currently HOU trade at ~2-3X premium to their announced NAV, which means when they do issue new subscription again, it will be at the NAV.. and HOU should automatically crash to that level??? if so, why would anyone still be holding HOU right now? where's the upside?

Well moving over to July instantly would have been major upside... if it was still 2x and tracking properly

But yeah, they have warned against buying it

Nice to be up and all, but any plans on realizing gains?

Most people in MJ had no plans and then lots of "shoulda woulda coulda" happening after.

    Nice man!

I'm a bit astounded how well Zoom is doing. I get they are being used a ton these days but I also keep reading about security concerns -- apparently the market doesn't care. That sucker keeps going up!

Gains, the hell are those? hahaha

I sold some to cover my original investment amount. Struggling to find a spot to pull the plug at tho. This shit could be the next SONA... but I dunno.

Yup. That is always the dilemma (on both ends of the spectrum, bagholder or in the green).

Yah. Wait and see what happens in the afternoon I guess. Keeping a close eye on it.

Everyone, how much do you think the market is already pricing in more extensive shut-ins from companies like SU? It's been minor so far, but I assume it has to get a lot larger. But, if those barrels are being sold at a loss, does the market care?

Had a "offline" conversation with a smart industry insider (and beyond.ca member) about this last week, but still looking for more thoughts on it. The extensive shut-in have to happen, and they will start getting announced really soon. How much do you think the market is already pricing that in? How much do you think the market won't even react because daily production is irrelevant when you are selling at a loss?
