So were not really fear mongerers but the TP shituation is real and i was able to grab some on Saturday from shoppers and im glad i did because that stuff is all gone. Im part of a couple group texts and my phone was blowing up with pics of the costcos and superstores yesterday so we figured we'd better go get some things just in case. Pull up to the walmart and it was a frenzy in there. Shelves were getting very bare and the pasta sauces and canned soups were pretty much empty. Not too sure what to expect but the social media/media is making this way worse than it probably is

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Line up to get into Costco this morning was wrapped around the building to the gas bar at the Sarcee location.

We haven't stocked up but our pantry on any given day can sustain us for sometime with beans/lentils/rice to make Indian food.

I need to go get more baby formula for topping up new born. I hope it doesn't run out.

I’m in the south I’m sure it’ll be the same, I usually go to the Okotoks location but I have a feeling it’s going to be just as busy.

Glad because of the weekend forecast we decided to go wednesday rather than wait for our usual weekend run. Ran out first thing this AM to get extra of a few basics and shelves were pretty bare on many things. Flour/ sugar/ yeast took a couple of stores to get (who would have thought Aspeners baked). Walked around to see the madness and pastas/ cereals/ frozen veg were decimated at both stores. Chatting with an employee, they weren't able to get restock of these items from the distribution center, so I guess we are going to see some short term shortages.

    Lot's of fresh goods though

Different areas are crazy. Marda loop safeway looks like the zombie apocalypse. Glamorgan safeway looks a superbowl weekend -Some empty shelves, but some items left of most groceries. Marda loop there was whole sections like bread, flour, tp, paper towel just empty. Even the butcher wall was basically empty except the steak wall.

Heck, i went to grab some chicken noodle soup the other day and the store was sold out of all brands of instant ramen. Except the no-name brand, full stock there.

I bet most people are kicking themself in the ass for not stocking up on basics sooner. It's kinda funny seeing people make fun of those who planned ahead and are now struggling with the lines.

We typically have 1-2 months supply of just about everything in the house for various reasons. I just seemed to hit this very close to a TP re-stock time. Other than that we are good for food. We could stay at the house for a while.

The only concern for me is things for the kids to eat. Picky kids can make for a frustrating experience if they don't have what they like.

Deerfoot Meadows Costco-only two cars ahead of me in the gas lineup.
Got a parking spot nice and close.
In and out (only one re-usable bag with 5 items) in 20 minutes-and short lineups.
Funny to see all of the people hovering around the tp aisle like it was a sample table-all waiting for some to come out I guess.
Liquor store is plenty full as well.
