Because the media reported shelves were being wiped, so this is what people think they need to hoard.
    honestly, is this really necessary?

Probably not but in their mind there's no downside.

It's gonna get used somehow haha.

Stockpiling TP is really harmless. It doesn't go bad, and it's cheap. I buy the massive packs normally, because it's easy to put 24 or 4 rolls into 4 bathrooms.

Was at superstore this afternoon in Shawnessy. Saw a few masks on people. They had brought out pallets upon pallets of rice. I counted at least 6 people with carts loaded with rice.

Sub out floor traders for your average shopper and sub out waffles for toilet paper.

Saw a couple posts on reddit of insane lines at costco and superstore today. No idea if those were actually pics of Calgary but seems the hoarding is ramping up.

I read costco does deliveries now. Walmart is rolling out delivery and has pick up options. Theres no reason to stand in line for hours. Not sure why people are that dumb.

I had a friend say he was stuck at Costco in line for 2 hours yesterday.

We went to Costco last night.... place was empty. In and out in 20 minutes, quicker then usual.

    Well bread lasts forever.

Starting to look at my TP supply and hoping this is all over within a week, because that's all I got left.

I went on the weekend, so maybe it's worse now with the added panic, but I think it was the first time in my life I saw zero lineups at some of the checkouts at Deerfoot Meadows Costco. They also suspended the samples haha.

Total insanity worse than I've ever seen before at the Huntington Superstore. I was only going in for a prescription, so that was fine.

Lots of white rice on shelves but brown rice is definitely getting low. No dry red kidney beans to be found anywhere. Those plus salsa, powdered vegetable broth and an instant pot can feed you for weeks.
Costco liquor store for a few 48's of PBR wasn't bad, grabbed a fresh half oz, expect to be told to work from home very soon... Bring on the lockdown.
