    (Real talk, I'll probably do similar but with more of a value/emerg/small cap tilt. My model will also be a little more complicated due to Spanish residence and the different laws here re: accumulating funds/taxation plus my plan for 60+ years of retirement).

    VIX is the volatility index, TVIX is the 2x leveraged version of that. The volatility index is also sometimes referred the fear index.
