Maybe a new engine supplier would go in? I wonder if VAG still has room to play post-Dieselgate.
They did sell Bugatti to Rimac so maybe there's play money there?

Hondas reasons for pulling out sounds a little bit like BS.
The top tier engine builders are definitely not just abandoning the ICE - but I do see ICE becoming a more 'niche' thing in that some might farm out their ICE engines to a contractor and the number of engine OEMs will drop.
Honda said the move was a result of the transformation of the car industry away from internal combustion engines. They are pursuing "carbon neutrality by 2050" through "future power-unit and energy technologies, including fuel-cell vehicle and battery technologies".
I think you’ll be surprised at how fast ICE will die once electrical energy storage progresses to a state close to gasoline as an energy medium in terms of cost, weight, convenience, etc. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm thinking about buying tix to the Turkish GP. Where would Beyond sit (without breaking the bank)?

I'm thinking Silver 8 or Gold 4 which both look over Turn 8. I can't seem to find any info on where the screens are though... from past F1 races I've always appreciated having a screen visible in order to better follow the action.
They are actually pondering letting go Ducati and Lambo next. They also want maximum cash for EV push, like Honda. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Oh I have no doubts that ICE will end up being a niche thing like v12 or v10s are now - only 1-2 OEMs will make ICE engines for cars in say, 20 years? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
HAM - VER team would be insane. I want it.

Yeah those seem pretty good. Only issue is whether you see around the first turn in Gold 8 or if that chicane is blocked or not. If not, go for itThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Hope you didn't buy tickets yet. They just cancelled fans for the race. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Nah, I hadn't bought yet. I've had dozens of plans ruined due to COVID so I was going to wait until the first week of November to buy. I wonder if the people who did buy will receive refunds? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Now I'm not even sure if I'll go to Turkey...
I have a friend still waiting for his Canadian GP refund haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

This is a spicy rumor. Not sure how much weight to put behind it though.

Missed Apex understands that Horner and Marko are in Austria to meet with Mateschitz. the aim of the meeting is to get a sign off on the finance to buy the Honda engine IP
Talk of it being badged as Mugen who are already based in Milton Keynes
That actually sounds somewhat reasonable, if they have the cash.
I think I heard they are keeping the same power unit design till 2026, hard to say if it’s better than the Renault though.
Mercedes power red bull...... interesting.
Won't happen. Mercedes isn't going to willingly supply them, and Renault would take on the responsibility of supplying them, as they are the engine builder with the fewest customers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Honda had mentioned part of the rational for leaving was to free up cash but also engineering resources. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The value of the team moving forward is not the drawings and facility in my mind but the engineering might so not sure it makes sense to purchase the engine from Honda unless maybe Andy Cowell is looking...
If I was Marko/Horner my move would be to outwardly commit to leaving unless supplied by Mercedes knowing that Renault has to supply them if they wanted.

May be Youtube can stream better than F1TV.
Saw something that it is zero commentary or german commentary is the only thing. Since it is at 6:10 this weekend, I might just sleep in and watch the F1TV after. They have no spoilers on the main page I found after doing the same for russia. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Thank god for the retirements and the cold weather, otherwise that would have been a snooze of a race. I wonder what Ricciardo is going to pick...honey badger in lederhosen?
That was a pretty exciting race. Lots of unreliability for some reason and very impressive work by Hulk. Perhaps it can help him secure a seat for 2021. Albons retirement was pretty suspect so perhaps there will be a seat at both RB and AT.
