Default Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2020

F1 has moved to the last few legs and into the middle east... or as know to some... planet Tatooine.

After Lewis Hamilton won the last race. Some argued he is the greatest driver. Sure... I would just like everyone to know that I am also the greatest driver when I play Gran Turismo on my PS3. Despite starting from the back in all the races in that game. If I just manage my car right, I always win too.

Anyhoo... Inspired by Perez great podium finish. Racing point will be looking to build on that. if not, maybe Perez will be a good black friday buy for another team..

I wonder if the last race inspired Vettel to finish the last few races of the season with a bang? Who knows, maybe he will show his team mate Harry Potter that there is no magic is this Bahrain Kingdom... Or will LeClerc pull out his magic carpet and make him think otherwise?

Fun fact 'Since 1782 (possibly 1783), the Al Khalifa family has ruled Bahrain and is still in power today.'. I wonder if Lewis Hamilton will bring up issues of inequality to the Kingdom.. Or will he be worried that Jabba the Hutt will chop his hands off? Who knows... Race on.

    Predictions..? Thoughts...?

Nobody is going to beat Lewis here. Albon managed out out qualify Perez at least, but .6 behind Max.

    Is gambling prevalent on F1?
What's a bet on Ferrari pay?

I looked on one I use for the soccer.
I cant bet on Ferrari. But a $100 bet on Leclerc to win outright pays 25k.
    Feeling lucky?

Wow that's amazing! When you consider the variables of crashes, it seems far less insane. I should look more into this.
    Thanks!

Geez. I wonder what Stroll was at last race and how batshit anyone must've been during that race before watching it drivel away.

He’s fine. Holy fucking shit tho. When was the last time we’ve seen a f1 car explode in a crash?

Wow the slow motion replays were spectacular. You can't imagine anyone surviving that seeing the images of the car after the crash.

Halo saved his life. Car split in half and exploded. He literally went under the guardrail with the front of the car in a fireball. How he walked away from that was insane.

I’m amazed at how well the front end held up. Scary stuff but shows how far safety has come. 10-15 years ago I don’t think he could have walked away.

Halo was what 2 years ago? That barrier would’ve taken his head out pre halo IMO.

All the criticisms of the halo was wiped out this crash. He got out himself.

If he didn’t get himself outta that car, I’d be surprised if he made it through alive. Those marshalls were not about to jump in and get him. Wild.

    So?

Safer Barrier would've most likely not allowed the car through it and would've absorbed a lot of the impact. A lot of other tracks, especially in NA, have installed Safer Barriers on quite an extensive basis and in areas where one wouldn't expect are vehicle to normally impact a wall all that hard. I realize it basically comes down to a cost versus risk basis but IMO that barrier that Grosjean crashed into has no place at most areas where an impact can occur. I guess we need to be thankful for the Halo device as that for sure saved Grosjean's life.

I dunno what to tell ya. It’s a balance of risk vs logistics?
