$150K engineer detected.
I've been to the office like 3 days since March, probably won't be back regularly until into the new year. Most the of the team that I manage is outside of Calgary anyway, so my job is nearly identical at home or in the office as it's all remote anyway. Miss some of the camaraderie and interactions with the office people that I don't regularly work with though.
We are 100% back to work normally aside from some very loosely enforced meeting room occupancy limits.

Been back downtown since June 1st.. intially it was 10-3, 4 days a week and it was dead. Since Sept 1 we have been 5 days a week and 9-4.
Noticing a bit more traffic, but certainly less than 50%. Even +15s at lunch arent super busy.
How is workplace contact tracing done when they don't disclose the name of the infected individual? It's very possible that someone has had contact without the infected person knowing or remembering.
I assume if HR is monitoring badge swipes that closely, they can figure out who is in contact with infected and notify only people that are exposed. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That might help, but there is no possible way for it to be accurate without involving everyone. Also, say 3 people are coming in a doorway at the same time, only one person swipes their badge. Lots of bathrooms/kitchens don't require a badge to get into either. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It's probably a privacy issue but I'm surprised they would do that.
Previously our work basically made the exposed floor self-isolate. They talk with the infected individual to see what areas they had been in as well as any meetings and then contact those people. None of it is/was disclosed. Sharing elevators shouldn't be much of a concern, with the 3 person limits you can't really share an elevator for more than a minute even with 3 stops so although you have some exposure it's fairly brief. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Work contact tracing? Definitely not a thing for us, we are on a let your boss know if you have the ‘rona system.

Consider we are not officially back in office but still have about 10-15% people in the building (some jobs can't WFH), it's probably a lot easier to track. We also change make up of shifts and when/where they work to do more separation and reduce impact of single employee knocking out critical operations. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Talking to other electricity grid operators around the country, they all seems to operate with the same caution. If you are not needed in the office, stay away.
Yup; reach out to leader + safety team so they can carpet bomb the building you contaminated with LysolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
180 degree from work today. They want nothing to do with what’s going to come out of Halloween so we are shutting the office down for at least the next 2 weeks and see what happens.
Personally, I am probably not going to come back in until the new year unless it’s critical due to some exigent circumstances.
Definitely need a new tv now haha.

I don't see anything crazy happening because of Halloween. Outside activity with minimal interaction with other people and a lot of costumes have masks already. Toss in the people who are incorporating them this year and it seems like the Halloween outbreak is going to be a Facebook fearmongering event at best. It's fun though seeing the people taking trips to the grocery store, getting take out, going to restaurant and having kids in school dream up these crazy things like candy tubes and needing to use tongs to hand out candy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I don’t disagree with you. But I’ll take the little victories where I get them.

Very dead driving downtown today this morning. I suspect street loitering will have a resurgence in the coming weeks.
Interesting. Was the same coming in from the west as it was all week. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My work has officially said "fuck the new AHS rule on kids". If you have a snotty nosed child, you aren't allowed in.
Maybe caught a pocket because bad traffic leaving downtown after work. StePHen Ave was hopping too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think basically it's the bump on cases after every holiday event. We have not got over thanksgiving yet and as safe as many candy hand out by households (I have seen a high speed chute from 2nd floor), there will still be parties and number will likely continue to go up.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Anyway, weather is awesome this week to take down Halloween crap and put up Christmas crap.
Sounds like Suncor's 2 days per week in office is voluntary and already breaking down back to WFH as nobody wants to show up and making people showing up in office looks like freakin idiots, especially paying for parking.
