Asbestos isn't an issue unless you're making the particles airborne.

Well it's a building of 70s/80s vintage. It's full of asbestos anyway. But the reno on other floors gave CNOOC to enact escape clause to get something better and cheaper.
Ya they took on heavily discounted fully built out Cenovus sublease space in the Bow. I always loved the look of the Nexen building, sad that it is still sitting completely vacant.

Ya that office space in there is so old and tired so it requires a tear down. I also heard that the way the building is setup, it is impossible to contain the contaminants to one floor, thus CNOOC being able to escape the lease.

Yeah, it's not the perfect solution most days, but today it actually worked pretty good because I had some local files on one not available on the other.

Was told new Suncor tower elevator policy is 3 per car and everyone has to face the wall until they reached their floor. LOL

How do you know you've reached your floor?
I guess state of the art elevators.
My building, the elevators barely all are working at a given time.

Our company just got pushed back to Q4 at the earliest. If it even starts then it would be a phased approach with only a % of the office allowed in until a vaccine or it appears this isn’t an issue anymore.

I’m in bow valley and it’s 2 per elevator. We ask every car that stops if they mind if we join... takes 10 mins to get down sometimes and most floors aren’t even back yet.

We have essentially been told, read between the lines type stuff, starting the 22nd the expectation is for us to be at work, in the office, the majority of the time, working back toward the expectation to be in the office 100% over time.

Exceptions to be made case by case basis. We always had relative flexibility before so nothing really new.

Seems perfectly reasonable for my employer to want me to show up to work in exchange for continuing to be paid.

4 stages and stage 1 starts in Jul but no dates for other stages and where stage 4 is we treat virus as common cold.

Stage 1 will be voluntary and executive/management only. Basically all restriction still applies since lockdown and mandatory mask other than at you own desk. Meeting rooms and kitchen are all locked out.

Stage 2 is like Stage 1 except no longer voluntary for some.

Stage 3 is like Stage 2 with 80% back except extreme medical cases. Meeting rooms and kitchen reopens, International travel allowed again. My guess this is when the 14 days isolation order lifts.

The key here is mandatory mask when you are not in your own space. And for some losing kitchen access will be major inconvenience. Stage 1 is basically WFH except you have to drag your ass to a cube. I think our HR and legal is intentionally making it vague and set our dates behind others to see what kind lawsuits flies around 1st and what passes as reasonable safety precaution under labor law.
