A&W in Nisku handed me four packs of masks on Saturday while I was grabbing lunch for Castrol. Didn’t ask for them they basically just threw them in the car lol.

Exactly. These places have no storage for them, and so few people were asking, they just started giving large handfuls to those that did.

Well the province bought 40 million masks. We have 4.5 million people in this province.

The math says, if you take more than 8 (1 pack), you’re an asshole.

Wait there’s packs of 8? All the ones they threw in were packs of four.

Someone on here said 8, I wouldn’t know personally; they have all been sold out any time I have gone to McDicks (which is surprisingly often).

First round was packs of 4, second round were packs of 8. The masks handed out were quite good for disposable masks, better quality than the ones you buy from Costco, Wal-Mart, etc. Comparable to what they hand out at the hospital to visitors.

We got notified a while back that we are not allowed into our office buildings without director approval, and while not explicitly stating it, it strongly hinted that if you went into the office without permission it would be a quick way to collect unemployment.

We also got an email from our CEO a couple days ago that current WFH plans are remaining in effect until after the new year, and will be re-evaluated in December for 2021.

If I didn't go to the office until 2021, I might as well resign.
Work from home isn't an option if you're able and young.

I got pretty much the same message. Travel severely restricted and WFH until the new year.

There are so many things wrong with this statement.

Assuming we are talking about your typical office job, why should it matter if you are working from the office or at home if you are still producing the amount/quality of work? Why do you care if someone is working from Houston, Calgary, your house, etc.? Have you ever worked on a global project? No one gives a shit if you are calling from home or the office for an 6AM MST Europe call, or an 8PM MST China call.

Then there's fact that you think because someone is able and young they should go to the office while the old and weak people should stay home? Being young, fit, etc. does not exclude you from getting COVID. How many pro athletes, who are in peak physical shape, got COVID?

I got a buddy who is a pitcher in the MLB, and is super paranoid about catching Covid. It was funny listening to him rant about what is going on with the Marlins and the plans for keeping the season going, but it was totally understandable.

Personally I'd rather be in the office than WFH (I like biking to work, good exercise plus gym at work)... that being said I wouldn't say WFH can't be a option. Pretty easy to make a nice office setup and be able to make coffee and food while working from time to time.

I wish I could know I'd be WFH for 6 months or longer, I'd pack up and hit the road immediately. Lots of beautiful places you could work from with a good wifi or hotspot connection.

Yeah. It's going to take one of the very high ups to get seriously sick and then the tune might change. But currently, it's flirting with a great outbreak within the office.
I agree totally with your statement. Young still means you can get it.

Some companies are not worried. Mike's workplace is one of then.

We now have to wear masks when on site (inside and outside... lol) but don't have to in the office (our space or common areas). And can still have in office meetings, without masks if 2m distance is kept.

Seems odd but WTF do I know?
