I drew the long straw and get to stay home next week which will be weird. I’m actually kind of stoked.

I like the dock. Havent had any issues with it. I have a dock at work that has a power button to supposedly turn the laptop on without opening it, but it doesnt work reliably.
Also have a 4in 2out USB toggle to use the same accessories for my desktop and laptop. That also works great.
ES, I’ve only used Skype previously, but it is falling apart. We are just transitioning to teams.
Do you browse porn on the work laptop or elsewhere? I have a desktop set up beside my work laptop and monitor for “multitasking”.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've been hearing that Skype is being replaced by Teams for years. Slow process. We're just in the first stages of replacing Office 2010 and Exchange 2010 with O365. O365 E3 comes with Skype for Business and Teams. Thinking there's no point in even thinking about Skype, we're trying Teams. So far I'm pretty impressed. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We abuse the crap out of Teams at work because you can drag and drop giphy animated gifs into chats and have full animation. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We also abuse the built in w10 emojis with it too.
Is teams any good on a cellphone? I have people working out of pickup trucks at least a couple days a week. Not sure what I'm hoping for, just trying to understand the limitations.

Unless someone in a local office has been exposed or returns from out of country travel everyone is expected to be in the office normal operating hours, because the ruling is risk is still considered low
Sig nuked by mod.
Teams is great on a cell phone. Be realistic with it, like maybe not the platform to collaborate on a spreadsheet, but it works quite well. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

A guy came in today, who flew in from the UK last night. Everyone was yelling at him to go home and self-quarantine, but he refused until the VP finally came down and told him to GTFO, lol. I work with a lot of old guys, they're actually pretty worried, and wouldn't stop shit talking about him all day.
My department worked from home today as a test, we passed. It really was business as usual.
Senior executives sent out an email that Monday is a regular work day in the office, if there are reasons why we need to work from home it will be supported, but bums in chairs Monday morning.
teams is garbage, the whole workflow and interface is terrible, they should have put teams in to skype, not skype in to teams.
We're transitioning because we have to because skype will die, but its terrible, they have a long way to go to get to something thats actually efficient and usable by the general office staff.

Webex hasn’t moved forward one bit since Cisco acquired them. We moved off Webex to zoom last year and not looking back. Our zoom meeting rooms are awesome. Add room to whatever meeting you have, walk in room, one click on the zoom tablet and meeting starts, cameras fire up. Sharing a screen is as easy as clicking share screen on your laptop. It uses ultrasonics to talk to the room to share to the right meeting. Zero wires. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Webex was so bad that even the little things pissed me off. If you’re joining by phone, the 3 lines of text for the phone number and code is shown on a 2 line window so you have to scroll that little window to get the call in code lol. It’s hilarious on a 4k screen.

Teams rule especially on a cellphone. I'm always online and accessible.
Most of our department uses Skypes, our team currently uses Teams but a previous iteration of the team was using Slack, and now I'm hearing the organization is also looking to add Zoom. C'mon, enough already!
I was just talking to a friend and she told me someone she does work with decided he needed to go to San Diego this weekend and has no intentions of self-isolating himself when he gets back. Quite the opposite: he delivers for Skip the Dishes and plans to keep doing it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm in a small community where lots of people think they are much "safer" because we are small. Yeah ok, people fly in and out from vacation destinations all the time...
People on cruises, coming back from US, overseas, all coming back to work here lol. So... Not sure what to really think.

Yah I personally hate it. Its so slow and the interface sucks bad. Our latest issue is "ghost" participants showing up and not able to lock the room down from a VC panel. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
WebEx has been terrible for decades. I'm so glad there's real competitors now.
