I think basically it's the bump on cases after every holiday event. We have not got over thanksgiving yet and as safe as many candy hand out by households (I have seen a high speed chute from 2nd floor), there will still be parties and number will likely continue to go up.

Anyway, weather is awesome this week to take down Halloween crap and put up Christmas crap.

Sounds like Suncor's 2 days per week in office is voluntary and already breaking down back to WFH as nobody wants to show up and making people showing up in office looks like freakin idiots, especially paying for parking.
Given how many cases they've had, not surprising tbh ... I don't wanna go back to the office anymore.

Had a customer kick-off meeting on Wed to arrange a site service trip for November. They called back Friday saying the site went back to Stage 3 and no non-critical trips. It's been postponed to the new year sometime. Seems like everyone is either in process of, or getting for, another lockdown.

if your office is built to the same standards as hospitals or CDC centers, and you're the only one working, then yep I can see that, otherwise ....

I think most think Dec 1st will be another lock down or whatever non-lock down sounding lock down they can think of.

Noticed in the parkade there is a seperate gate transponder that says for Suncor Employees only, and something about first come first served. Any idea what thats about?
(Im in the building... but not with Suncor)

Suncor negotiated discounted rates for some FCFS spots. Cheaper than the pleb parking. (19$ IIRC)

Guessing this is just using some of Suncors monthly stalls that they have to pay for regardless of usage. Makes sense for everyone but the Landlord.

    Not really....

    Basics of it.
-Suncor has to pay for X amount of parking stalls regardless if they are used or not, as outlined in their Lease. For the majority of the year, a large portion of those stalls go unused. (Also why Suncor did that cheap parking promotion last year, as it was brought to their attention)
-Landlord knows exactly how many stalls arent being used and then turns around and rents them to daily parkers. This allows them to basically rent the same stall twice.

-Without any inside info on how this FCFS parking works, my best guess is the Landlord gave Suncor the opportunity to use a certain amount of their already paid for stalls on a 'special' daily basis. (No idea if thats billed by Suncor or landlord) The only real benefit to the Landlord is that it makes their single biggest tenant happy.. but the Landlord is definitely missing out on parking revenue.

We negotiated a cheaper daily parking option with our building parking manager. Has nothing to do with spots we lease corporately which are ours whether used or not.

They “win” by people paying to use their underutilized spots rather than parking somewhere else in someone else’s lots. Doesn’t seem complicated to me.

Been WFH since Mid-March. Latest info suggest, not going back until spring or possibly next summer.
